Those heartbreaking words came from Brittany, a mother who watched her little girl survive one terrifying medical crisis — only to face another battle years later.
Her daughter Brynley developed dangerously high fevers in October 2023, reaching as high as 106 degrees. As her condition worsened, Brittany and Brynley’s grandmother rushed her to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Then Brynley stopped talking.
She began having seizures.
And then she coded.
Brittany watched as doctors pressed the code blue button and fought to save her daughter.
“Watching them press the code blue button and watching my daughter’s eyes roll back is a picture in my head that I will never be able to erase.”
For about six minutes, Brittany says she could do nothing but drop to the floor and pray.
Doctors brought Brynley back.
She survived a brain infection that later required surgery and endured a year of intensive antibiotics.
But in November 2025, another battle began.
Seizures.
Despite changes in medications and dosag

Her name was Gracelyn.
She was a daughter.
A little sister.
A “mommy’s girl.”
And she was deeply loved. ❤️
Gracelyn passed away on September 14 at just 4 months old.
Her family has not shared how she passed, choosing instead to remember the happy baby girl she was and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
She adored her brothers and sisters.
She was surrounded by family who loved her.
And although her life was heartbreakingly short, she made an impact that will never disappear.
What makes this loss even harder is knowing what her family had already endured this year.
While Chrislyn was pregnant with Gracelyn back in March, her husband Justin suffered a devastating nail gun accident. A nail entered his skull and became lodged in his brain.
He experienced bleeding in his brain and initially couldn't move the left side of his body.
Chrislyn begged people to pray.
“Our babies and I need him.”
And Justin survived.
He worked through an incredible recovery and was able to return to work by June.
Then, only months later, this family was given another heartbreak no parent should ever have to face.
They lost their baby girl.
Gracelyn leaves behind her mom and dad, brothers Connor and Braxton, sisters Kynslee and Timberlynn, and so many relatives who will forever remember her.
There is nothing anyone can say to make this pain disappear.
But we can pray.
Please pray for this family as they navigate the days ahead without their precious baby girl. Pray for strength when the grief feels unbearable, and comfort when memories bring both love and pain.
Rest peacefully, sweet Gracelyn. You were here for four months, but you will be loved for a lifetime. 💔🙏

She isn’t even three days removed from an incredibly complex 18-hour surgery, but 12-year-old Skylar Ingram is already showing the strength that has carried her through every step of this fight.
Skylar, from Gardendale, Alabama, is battling bone cancer.
A few months ago, the diagnosis threatened to change everything. Skylar is a club volleyball player with a huge dream — to one day play college and professional volleyball. She has always looked up to Gardendale’s own Merritt Beason, the All-American and professional volleyball player, and dreamed of following a similar path. 🏐❤️
Then came weeks of intense chemotherapy.
Doctors found cancer in Skylar’s right femur, and last Friday she underwent an extraordinary 18-hour surgery at Children’s of Alabama.
Surgeons removed the cancerous portion of her femur and used bone from her left fibula to help rebuild her right leg. Her mother Kelly explained that the surgical team took the fibula from Skylar’s left leg, placed it inside a cadaver bone to replace the cancerous bone, and then reconnected the necessary blood vessels to create a new blood supply.
Now Skylar is recovering in the ICU, with doctors expecting her to remain at Children’s for up to two more weeks.
The road ahead will be long.
There will be difficult days, painful rehabilitation and challenges she never imagined facing at just 12 years old.
But Skylar has something her mother says cannot be measured:
Zero quit. 💪❤️
Her community is standing behind her too. Church of the Highlands in Fultondale and its SERVE team came together to build an amazing ramp for Skylar, helping make life at home a little easier during her recovery.
“She has zero quit, and will continue to defy odds and exceed expectations,” Kelly said.
Please keep Skylar in your prayers as she begins this next chapter. Pray for healing, strength, successful recovery and that the little girl who dreams of playing volleyball will never lose sight of that dream. 🏐🙏❤️

Sometimes there are no perfect words for what a family is going through.
Jason Farmer has battled stage 4 pancreatic cancer for three years. His wife Rebecca has walked beside him through the treatments, the fear and the uncertainty, while their 7-year-old daughter Lily has continued loving and needing her dad.
Even after everything, Jason and his family were willing to try one more treatment — an “outside the box” chemotherapy approach that doctors in Mobile and at Mayo Clinic agreed was worth attempting.
Now, Jason is in the ICU.
Rebecca says his kidneys aren't functioning the way they should, and doctors are still trying to determine why. His blood pressure has become dangerously low and hasn't stayed up despite treatment.
He now requires IV medication to help raise it and constant monitoring.
But Rebecca's greatest struggle may not be the medical equipment or the uncertainty.
It's having to leave him.
She can only stay during visiting hours, and the thought of walking out of that hospital room without knowing what the next hours may bring is breaking her heart.
“I just want to be beside him.”
Imagine loving someone so deeply and having to leave their side simply because visiting hours are over.
Rebecca is scared.
She is overwhelmed.
But she is still asking people to pray.
“We need prayers. So many prayers.”
Please, if you see this, stop for a moment and pray for Jason Farmer. 🙏❤️
Pray for healing and stabilization. Pray for his kidneys. Pray for his blood pressure. Pray for strength for Rebecca. And pray that little Lily gets more precious time with her father.

They went to the emergency room because their son’s knee needed to be checked.
They expected answers about his knee.
They never expected to hear the word leukemia.
Doctors examined their little boy and initially found that his bones were fine. The family thought everything was okay. But then the medical team ran blood tests, and those results changed their entire world.
The blood work showed leukemia.
Their son was immediately rushed to a larger hospital, and now the family is preparing for him to possibly begin chemotherapy. 💔
His father says he feels lost, helpless and heartbroken. He is watching his child suffer and wishes more than anything that he could take the pain away himself.
“I feel really useless watching my child suffer and not able to do anything but pray and cry.”
But sometimes, when a parent has no answers and no way to control what comes next, prayer becomes the one thing they can hold onto.
This father is choosing to trust God in the middle of the storm.
He knows the story of Jesus and understands that God knows the pain of watching a son suffer. Yet as a father himself, he says he simply cannot stomach seeing his own baby go through this.
So he is asking God for one thing:
Please heal my baby boy. 🙏

For most families, bringing your 1-year-old home is something that feels ordinary.
For Adriana and her family, getting to bring little Jorge “Tres” home to Eagle Pass was a dream they had fought incredibly hard to experience. ❤️
Tres was born with CNOT3 and Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, and his parents were warned before his birth that he might not survive. Adriana says one doctor even told them he might not live long enough to take his first breath.
But Tres cried. He breathed. He fought.
His mother traveled from Eagle Pass to Corpus Christi so he could receive specialized treatment at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Before he was a week old, he underwent his first heart procedure. His journey continued through months of hospitalization, intubations, another major heart surgery and emergency surgery after complications.
Yet somehow, this little boy kept giving his family another reason to hope.
He made it to his first birthday. 🎂 And just before Christmas last year, his family finally brought him HOME.
They got five days together in Eagle Pass.
Five days of holding him. Five days of loving him in the place he belonged. Five days of making memories outside the hospital walls.
Now those memories are more precious than ever.
Adriana says doctors recently told the family that Tres’ heart has reached the late stages of heart failure. After seeking additional opinions, they were told there is no medical option available that can save his life. Tres is now receiving palliative and hospice care.
His mother is only 22.
She is being asked to think about funeral and end-of-life expenses while still holding onto the hope that somehow her baby will get more time.
“I pray that somehow I will get to watch my baby grow up.”
She dreams of the moments every parent hopes to experience — first steps, “Mama,” school, birthdays and watching the little boy she loves become a grown man.
Please keep Tres and Adriana in your prayers. 🙏❤️
If you believe in the power of prayer, leave one below. Let this young mother know that people she has never met are standing with her and asking for more time for her precious little boy.

It’s been a little while since we checked in on 16-year-old Colton Moore of Odenville, Alabama, and his latest update is exactly the kind of good news we love to share. Colton has spina bifida, uses a wheelchair and has undergone more than 50 surgeries throughout his life. But none of that has stopped this teenager from staying busy and making the most of every moment. Now in 10th grade at St. Clair County High School, Colton is involved in Drivers Ed, JROTC, academics and the Saints for Christ leadership team — and he is loving every second of it. His mom Jennifer also shared that Colton’s Paw Paw, Randy Wood, was recently cleared to drive again following his own brain tumor removal surgery, which means he can once again chauffeur Colton around to Saints sporting events. ❤️ The two have become known as the “Dynamic Duo” around the school. Paw Paw gets Colton to games early so they can pray with the team before the action begins, and apparently everyone notices when the pair isn't there. Even better, Colton has a busy social life too. 😂 On the second day of school, he asked his counselor if he could drop English and switch to band… because there was a cute girl! That might be the most normal 16-year-old thing ever. 😂 Now Colton is preparing for major dental work that will cost nearly $9,000 because of complications related to daily medications and sleeping on a ventilator. He is understandably nervous, but his mom reminded him that after more than 50 surgeries, including many involving his brain, this dental work should be “a piece of cake.” Please keep Colton in your prayers as he heads to the dentist Thursday, and celebrate with his family that this incredible young man is truly living his best life. ❤️🙏

For Michael’s family, everything changed with one fall. The Sinton, Texas father was trimming a tree for a landscaping company when the branch he was cutting struck his ladder and sent him nearly 20 feet toward the ground. Michael landed on his feet, but the impact was devastating. Both of his tibias were fractured, along with numerous smaller fractures, and he has already endured two surgeries since being hospitalized Monday. Doctors placed external fixators with metal rods to stabilize his legs, then performed a fasciotomy because of severe swelling. Now the swelling is keeping doctors from completing the next stage of surgery. Kaylee says Michael will need another round under anesthesia within 24 to 48 hours so doctors can close the surgical openings, while the external fixators must remain until at least Monday. If the swelling doesn't improve, they will have to wait. Michael may be unable to put weight on his legs for at least three to four months, and his family has been told his recovery could take more than a year. Meanwhile, Kaylee is preparing for a completely new reality. She and Michael have six children between them, three living at home, including two 7-year-olds with special needs and their youngest, who turns 3 this month. Michael was the sole provider. Now Kaylee will have to care for him while continuing to care for their children and figuring out how to handle the medical, emotional and financial challenges ahead. Michael has already told her he won't be returning to landscaping, saying, “It cost me way too much.” He went to work because he wanted to provide for the people he loves. Now those same people are surrounding him and praying for his recovery. Please pray for Michael’s legs to heal, for every upcoming surgery to go well and for strength for Kaylee as she takes on the role of caregiver. And please pray that this family finds the support they need during the long road back home. ❤️🙏

Michael went to work Monday expecting an ordinary day. Instead, one terrifying accident changed everything for him and his family. The Texas father was trimming a tree for a landscaping company when the limb he was cutting struck his ladder, sending him nearly 20 feet to the ground. Michael landed on his feet, but the force of the fall was so severe that both of his legs snapped. He suffered fractures to both tibias along with numerous smaller fractures and has now been hospitalized for days. He has already undergone two surgeries. Doctors placed external fixators with metal rods to stabilize his legs, and he later underwent a fasciotomy because of the extensive swelling. Now that swelling is preventing doctors from performing the next major step in his recovery. Kaylee, his fiancée, says Michael will need to be placed under anesthesia again within the next 24 to 48 hours so doctors can close the surgical openings. His external fixators must remain in place at least until Monday, and if the swelling hasn't gone down, the family will have to keep waiting. Michael may not be able to put weight on his legs for three to four months, and his family has been told a full recovery could take more than a year. He and Kaylee have six children between them, with three living at home, including two 7-year-olds with special needs and their youngest, who turns 3 this month. Michael was the sole provider for the household. Now Kaylee is preparing to become his caregiver while continuing to care for their children and navigate surgeries, medical equipment and an uncertain future. “The uncertainty is so incredibly scary for the both of us,” she said. Please pray for Michael’s healing, for the swelling to go down and for strength for Kaylee and their children through this life-changing journey. ❤️🙏

For Eli Rivera’s family, today is a day they will remember. Just one month ago, 18-year-old Eli was preparing to move into his Texas college dorm and begin studying Civil Engineering at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Instead, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and admitted to a San Antonio hospital to begin an unexpected fight for his health. His uncle Juan has now shared the news everyone had been praying for: Eli is in remission. 🙏🏼❤️ Doctors currently cannot detect the leukemia through their testing, and his bone marrow is recovering and producing normal blood cells. There is even more encouraging news following another recent scare — Eli has now been fever-free for 13 hours. But his family understands that remission is not the finish line. More chemotherapy is still ahead, with doctors working to make the remission as deep and lasting as possible. So they are celebrating this moment while continuing to pray for what comes next. Eli was supposed to be starting college right now, building a future in Civil Engineering and experiencing all the excitement that comes with being 18. Cancer interrupted those plans, but it hasn't erased them. Today is one important step toward getting Eli back to that future. Juan asked everyone who has supported Eli to please keep the prayers coming. So let's keep his name in our prayers — for continued healing, strength through every treatment and a long-lasting remission. The fight continues, but TODAY, this family gets to celebrate a victory. ❤️🙏🏼
