I rescued these two Silver labs 3 months ago. Brooke and Brandi. Yesterday I had to put Brooke to sleep. We rushed her to the animal hospital at 1 am but after all the tests came back the vet said it was neurological. She was paralyzed and the muscles she used for breathing were being paralyzed also. They said there was nothing they could do for her. So at 3 am while I pet her and kissed her snout they gave her the medicine and she went to sleep. And I know she is running and playing and breathing easy now in heaven and I will see her again when I pass on. But right now I am heartbroken and they are not just dogs they're family. I had her cremated. I love and miss her very very much Thanks for listening...💔

80-year-old woman completes annual 600-mile trek with her pony and dog
Every year, Jane Dotchin packs her saddlebags and sets off on an epic journey from her home near Hexham, Northumberland, up to Inverness, Scotland.
Since 1972, Jane, 80, has been heading on this annual trip on her 13-year-old horse, Diamond, travelling 600 miles on horseback.
This time, she began her journey on August 31, with her disabled Jack Russell, Dinky, for company as she covers between 15 and 20 miles a day.
The trip sees Jane carrying everything she needs on her back, including her tent, food, and a few key belongings.
After that initial journey, she caught the taste for the open road, and travelled to visit friends near Fort Augustus, near Loch Ness, Highlands, every autumn since.
Her epic journey usually takes around seven weeks, depending on weather, and Jane uses it as a chance to pop in and say hi to people she has met over the years.
She sustains herself on porridge, oatcakes, and cheese, and doesn’t need much electricity as she has an old mobile phone with a battery that lasts six weeks.

My own little dog has always been special. He was re****ed aftr being hit on the head when he was a baby. It never bothered me and I never saw it as a problem even though people secretly called him re****ed, dumb and such.
Today we turn 19 full of happness!!!!! I am very happy to have you in my life!!! Thank you for living 17 wonderful years together and as many more as you want! Thank you for never listening to people but only to me, mom, who adores you!! You are the most beautiful soul.

I forgot to post this Thursday after all that had happened that day I was really out of it (and probably the lack of sleep this past month) but we went to Olive Garden in little rock after Ellees tests at Children's hospital and she was starving and I was trying to make a bottle and spilled it all over me and the floor and made another bottle and our waiter (wish I knew his name) watched all that had happened and just had brought our salad and bread sticks and said here let me feed her and you eat.. This melted all of us and this is what we need more of! He fed her I ate my salad and bread sticks and that milk on the floor got cleaned up after we left because he just understood! He didn't even know what we had went through that day and showed us love and understanding- not irritated that I had made a mess and my baby was screaming... Gosh I wish I woulda got his name because he deserves the recognition!! And it's the Olive Garden on Rodney parham in little rock AR!

The lighter penguin is an elderly female whose partner died this year. The darker one is a younger male who lost his partner two years ago. Biologists have followed them as they meet every night to comfort each other. They stand for hours together watching the lights. Just a dog.
From time to time people tell me “chill out, it’s just a dog” or “it’s a lot of money just for a dog.” They don't understand the distance traveled, the time invested, or the costs incurred by "just a dog".
Some of my proudest moments have occurred with “just a dog.”
Many hours have passed being my only company "just a dog", but not for one moment did I feel despised. Some of my saddest moments have been because of “just a dog,” and on those gray days, the gentle touch of “just a Dog” gave me comfort and the reason to get through the day.
If you also think “it’s just a dog”, then you’ll probably understand phrases like “just a friend”, “just a sunrise” or “just a promise.” “Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure unbridled joy. “Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
For "just a dog" I will get up early, take long walks and look forward to the future. So for me and people like me, it’s not “just a dog,” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the memories of the past, and the absolute joy of the moment. “Just a dog” brings out the good in me and takes my thoughts away from myself and daily worries.
I hope one day they can understand that it’s not “just a dog”, but the one that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a human.” So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog”, just smile because they “just don’t get it”.

This precious baby, a La Plata dolphin that beached itself after being born, is being hand-reared in Uruguay in South America. The newborn baby still had her umbilical cord attached which meant she had only just been born. As grace would have it, she fell into the hands of Richard Tesore, who works at a wildlife rescue centre. He feeds her from a bottle and takes her for swimming practice in the sea all the time. She enjoys swimming in the sea of Piriapolis. This baby is very special as La Plata dolphins are considered to be a vulnerable species. She'll stay at the SOS Rescate Fauna Marina and will continue to be hand-reared until she's strong enough to look after herself.
