My father & I arriving in front of the house where he was sheltered with his family from the N***s during World War II. It was a touching moment. Thanks to the villagers, the local authorities and the French farmer who sheltered my family for two years (!) my family survived and I am here today!

I am happy to announce that my childhood friend from Paris, France Vincent Salimi will be coming on board my documentary film project ‘Return to Brittany’ as an associate producer! Vincent’s interest & contribution to the project means a lot to me. Vincent’s accomplishments since he moved to America about 25 years ago are stunning: a college degree, he became a mayor of Californian town, also became a pilot, opened a successful U.S. company, and founded an adorable American family. I am so happy & honored to have him on board my project, keeping the legacy of our common ancestry alive! Welcome on board mayor Vincent Salimi!

It was such an honor to be at the movie premiere of Marc Smolowitz’s (Marc Smolowitz ) new documentary ‘The Lonely Child’ at the CASTRO THEATRE in San Francisco. The doc is about a Yiddish lullaby written in a Jewish ghetto during World War II about a mother & daughter torn apart. It was a pleasure to meet Alix Wall the daughter of the actual daughter in the song, who also wrote & produced this documentary.

This was Cannes! I met a Brazilian filmmaker also doing a documentary about his Polish Jewish grandmother who fled persecution during a World War II! (We met at a French yacht party!). What a touching moment it was where two grandsons from different parts of the world, both doing a documentary about their grandparent, meet at a party at Cannes. Cannes serendipity…

This is Cannes! I ran into a friend from Paris film school I hadn’t seen in 20 years! We made a student short together. She is now an award-winning filmmaker (won Sundance & other festivals) and is head of the film center in Kosovo! You never know who run into at Cannes.
