Seeking Reality

Seeking Reality

Greetings You are in touch with Tthe Sound Of New World Afrikah. I'm working hard to finish the "Liberation Gospel" album and make it a more than worthy successor to the "Seeking Reality" album. When I look back on it the "Seeking Reality" album was a good campaign. An effective campaign. Thanks in large part to Ali Ar Rasheed. His the value of his assistance is inestimable. That album would not have been released with as much energy and potential had it not been for him. Then my Brother Far I Shields had his recording studio and together we produced some very nice recordings. Among them "Seeking Reality". Another who played a role was Valerie Allums. I also thank Dwayne Wiggins and his wife Michelle who let me open up my campaign at The Jahva House which they ran back then. Now I'm finishing "Liberation Gospel" in a few weeks. Our campaign for this one will be much better and more effective because we have this much more experience and acumen. I want to thank a few of those who have helped us to this point. Robert Honablue, Stanley Banks, Bill Hudson, Abdus-Sabor, Carolyn Maxwell, Sari MorningHawk, Mother's Tone, Nisa Kali, Pio Winston, David Bell, Tahirah Abdul-Haqq, Sharif Islam,Tami Tyree, and Ahmed Abdullah musician, teacher and director of the Bedford Village Ensemble. Believe it or not that's a SHORT LIST. But Love to you all and to the rest of my Family and Friends on Facebook stay with me and I will be alerting you soon about the album release shows and the ad campaign...Love and Blessings. So to my New York Family...June 9th. That's when I'll be doing the next SONWA concert and it will be at Everthing Goes Book Cafe located at 208 Bay St. (across from Thompkinsville Park) in the Thompkinsville/St. George section of Staten Island. Its VERY accessable near the Staten Island Ferry terminal. You have and will see me doing may "gigs' around the tri-state area and some of them may be casuals just pick up gigs (and I'm doing less of those this year... for real). But the SONWA shows are MY personal musical expression and constitute what I want to share with the public. So for this I'll be doing the "Power Trio" format with Chris Hall on bas and Chris Almeida on drums and performing songs from my "Seeking Reality", Keys To The Treasures..." and "Liberation Gospel" albums. And also a special litle feature of my youngsters from the Uniersal Temple of The Arts youth vocal ensemble. Our show that night will start at 8:00PM. Don't worry if you're a litle short of cash. The show is free. Come check us out. Free Inspiration. You can't beat that. I'll remind you again when the time is near. Jazz Lives and Liberation Gospel is here
