Just found this lovely blog post about the Soundscape project. Remember, the online archive is still growing! Look forward to updates here.

At a time when jazz was at a low ebb in the public eye, a New York venue hosted a lot of prominent free jazz and Afro-Cuban musicians. Radio station WKCR is now broadcasting and online archiving tapes from Soundscape recorded between 1979-1983.
