Regarding Ysabel's medical decisions, Kody seemed unwilling to allow her daughter to undergo major surgery, believing the procedure would impair her vision, leave scars, and require the installation of steel plates. It seemed that the physical pain and suffering Ysabel had endured for years didn't bother him at all, as his focus and energy were so consumed with caring for Robyn and their children that he had no time to worry about the basic needs of his own children.
Evidence of this unfair treatment became even more evident when Kody made sure to be physically present to accompany Robyn's 20-year-old daughter, Aurora, during her ear piercing, even comforting and comforting her throughout the process. Painfully, however, when Ysabel, struggling post-surgery, asked Kody to simply sing a comforting song over video chat, he simply refused, simply because he didn't feel like it.

Kody seems to be a vocal advocate for polygamy not to be categorized as a violation of the law, but he has never been truly committed to legalizing it to protect the legal rights of women and children—such as guarantees of child support or alimony. Therefore, all of his rhetoric is seen as merely a one-sided effort to protect the interests of men, including figures like Joe Darger.
On the other hand, Christine can be said to be the most dedicated and sincere person in trying to navigate the polygamous system properly. To me, it is striking and poetic that she was the first to finally take the courageous step of leaving plural marriage.

In my view, once Kody realized that Robyn balked at the idea of moving to Utah, he deliberately wanted to avoid any confrontation or argument with his beloved wife. As a result, he chose to let go and let Christine stand alone as the only party who agreed to the moving plan. Kody even clearly admitted in front of the camera that he deliberately did not defend or support Christine's position at that time.
From this series of incidents, Kody can be said to be a figure who is very inconsistent in upholding his commitments. He not only did this act of breaking his promise to Christine regarding plans to move to Utah, but he was also recorded as having done it to Meri at least twice in the dynamics of their relationship.

I see indications that Robyn is trying to "steal" or copy another wife's emotional storyline. At the moment of direct discussion with the priest regarding this matter, it was Christine who looked very emotional and expressed her feelings in depth, while Robyn was observed to be silent and did not speak at that time. However, later, in a separate interview session, Robyn actually tried to replicate and display an emotional response similar to what Christine had previously shown.
In terms of scientific facts, Robyn's argument regarding the development of the frontal lobe in adolescents is not wrong. However, as was his habit with everything else, he used these medical facts as a rationalization tool to manipulate the situation and maintain control. His decision to use this theory as justification to dictate his children's lives absolutely is typical of his manipulative nature. If he has a wiser and less shallow way of thinking, he should understand that the fact of brain development indicates that teenagers and young adults need supportive guidance and direction, not a dictatorial leader.

On the other hand, I was very surprised why Robyn was given so much space from the start to manage the affairs of children who were already teenagers. It should be remembered that none of the children who took part in the church youth group were Robyn's biological children, considering that at that time her own children were still far from being teenagers. It could be said that Robyn has only just joined the family structure "at a young age", but she already has the courage to try to dictate decisions about what is best for teenage children she has only known for a long time. How could he possibly claim to know what was most appropriate for them?
This moment at the beginning of the series is a strong indicator that confirms the audience's suspicions; Robyn seems to be positioned as the favorite wife. This is evident from how Kody tends to hear and consider his personal opinions more, even when compared to the perspective of his previous wives (OG3) who are clearly much more experienced in raising teenage children.

This is where the disconnect, or clear breakdown in communication, occurred between the two of them. Meri spoke of her heart and feelings, while Kody was only caught up in ego and physical possessions.
And in fact, history later recorded that Meri was indeed the victim of identity fraud (catfishing) by an individual pretending to be another "man," who (in the initial phase) successfully filled and fulfilled Meri's emotional needs that Kody had previously neglected.

From the moment she first met this family, Robyn was seen as knowing exactly what she wanted to achieve and how to execute it. Her primary focus was allegedly on getting Kody, securing the spotlight, and accessing the family's financial resources. She appeared adept at maneuvering situations and directing everyone around her—including the children—to further her personal agenda.
In practice, she seemed to be passive and relaxed, while her previous wives had to shoulder all the responsibility and heavy lifting of navigating various family situations. Robyn basically didn't mind sharing her schedule with Kody just a few times a week, as long as the material benefits and additional privileges she received continued to align with her master plan.
Therefore, the only logical reason why she seemed so disappointed and upset when this extended family structure finally collapsed was not because she had lost the concept of polygamy, but because she no longer had the ability to control the public narrative according to her wishes.

Upon closer inspection, we can see how immaculate Robyn's demeanor is. She masterfully portrays the innocent wife. At first, I believed this image, but after rewatching, it became clear that she had been engaging in various inappropriate behavior toward her previous wives (OG3) since the beginning of the season.
Another very interesting aspect to note is the internal relationship patterns developed within Robyn's own circle of children, as well as their social interactions with the children of her other wives (OG13).
Meanwhile, Kody's personality changes felt like a drastic and massive decline. His character transformation is reminiscent of the plot of Breaking Bad, where he slowly shifted toward a much darker, colder, and cynical personality. I'm personally very interested in rewatching it in the future, focusing primarily on analyzing Kody's character's decline from season to season.

What's even more concerning is how Robyn and her family were later perceived as emotionally manipulative toward Mykelti. They led Mykelti to believe that she had a special bond with Robyn, and that Robyn was the only person who uniquely "understood" her. However, in reality, Robyn allegedly only saw Mykelti as a free babysitter when she was still very young.
Personally, I may not particularly like Mykelti's personality as she has grown up, but I still empathize with her life journey. She appears to have grown up in a family environment where most of the adults around her tended to isolate her, treat her poorly, or even exploit her energy solely for domestic gain. Therefore, it's understandable why she later seemed to rush into marrying the first person who showed any attention or interest in her, and is now raising her children with a very lax parenting style.

The scene of the tire being destroyed during their family's move or exodus really made me laugh out loud. Kody seemed to be trying so hard to project a tough, manly, and competent image for the camera. However, the camera immediately panned to the so-called "destroyed" tire, and it was completely bald! This was despite the fact that they were in Utah, an area prone to heavy snow.
As the joke goes, at that point there was actually no tire left to destroy; the thin layer of rubber was more like easily torn wet toilet paper than a complete tire. Add to that the ridiculousness of his mischecking the tire... Oh my God, this guy's lack of alertness and lack of preparation was truly unbelievable. This incident certainly made me even more eager to see what his next reckless stunt with the chainsaw would be!
