Just saw Baristas vs Billionaires , and what stayed with me most was the sheer contradiction at the heart of it.

Starbucks ex CEO at the time Howard Schultz talks about watching his father struggle after being injured and losing his job—an experience that supposedly shaped how he viewed working people. Yet here are Starbucks workers fighting to be heard, asking for better treatment and a voice in their workplace, and they’re met with resistance from the very corporation he built. That irony is hard to ignore.

Then there’s the bizarre concentration-camp analogy. Hearing something as horrific as the Holocaust invoked in a conversation about Starbucks’ corporate culture was one of those moments where I genuinely wondered, How did anyone think this was a good comparison?

For me, the documentary ultimately comes down to corporate greed, power, and the widening disconnect between billionaires and the blue-collar workers who help create their wealth. You don’t have to agree with every argument the film makes to walk away asking an important question: At what point is enough money and power enough?

A thought-provoking documentary that definitely gave me something to think about after the credits rolled.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day – Spoiler-Free Review

A complete surprise. Literally as good as a Spider-Man movie could possibly be.

Marvel absolutely nailed this one.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up right after the events of No Way Home, and from the very beginning you feel the weight of everything Peter Parker has lost. Without giving too much away, one of the things I really appreciated is how Peter quietly keeps up with MJ and Ned through social media while they’re attending MIT. He watches their lives from a distance over the years, seeing them grow and eventually graduate, knowing he can’t truly be part of their journey anymore. It’s heartbreaking and perfectly captures the sacrifice Peter made.

At its core, this is a grounded, personal, and emotional Spider-Man story. More than anything, it’s about loss, grief, and learning how to move forward after tragedy. It’s also a revenge-driven story, but I won’t say why because that would spoil one of the film’s biggest emotional moments.

Parker and Frank Castle (The Punisher) are phenomenal. Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal have incredible chemistry, and every conversation between them carries real emotional weight. At times, their dynamic reminded me of the chemistry between Wolverine and Deadpool. I’m not saying it tops that duo, but their interactions were so compelling that they gave me that same feeling of watching two completely different characters bring out the best in each other.

The action is fantastic, especially the Spider-Man vs. Hulk sequences. They’re exciting, intense, and among the biggest highlights of the movie.

My only criticism is the ending. I was hoping for a little more closure between Peter, MJ, and Ned. It still feels like they don’t fully remember that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, but the post-credit scene leaves you excited for what’s next.

Overall, No Way Home is still my favorite Tom Holland Spider-Man film, but Brand New Day comes incredibly close.

If you’re expecting nonstop action, this isn’t that kind of movie. This is a heartfelt story about love, loss, sacrifice, grief, and healing. It reminds us why Peter Parker is one of the most relatable superheroes ever created, and it’s easily one of Marvel’s strongest Spider-Man films.
