Our Story
The Laura Dail Literary Agency Inc., incorporated in 1996, is a small, full-service literary agency, representing fiction and nonfiction, commercial and literary, for both adults and children. We represent a wide range of authors—including children’s fiction bestsellers, hard-hitting journalists, historians, chefs, and humorists—and are proud to see our clients’ titles on the New York Times, USA Today, and Amazon bestsellers lists.
Our team provides thoughtful attention at every stage of a book’s life—from editorial to marketing to sales and the licensing of subsidiary rights. We are the author’s partner and advocate for the life of the book, and we love it!
Everyone at LDLA shares a similar bent towards high-concept, commercial projects in genres such as: picture book, MG, YA, women’s fiction, romance, mystery/thriller, suspense, memoir, narrative non-fiction, and more. We are all genre fiction lovers, who are particularly drawn in by unique voices, strong character development, high-concept plots, and transporting experiences. We are all also committed to getting diverse voices onto bookshelves!
