Ankit Baiyanpuria lost his match against Arman Tsarukyan on August 1, 2026, but it was a submission-only grappling match rather than a standard MMA fight. The highly anticipated crossover event served as the main event for the Hype Fighting Championship at the Tashir Arena in Yerevan, Armenia.

The match was strictly submission-only grappling, meaning no punches, kicks, striking, or judges' scorecards were involved. The bout could only end via submission or a tap-out.

UFC top lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan dominated the match using his elite ground game, slamming the Indian fitness influencer to the mat multiple times before forcing a tap-out with an armbar in the first round (roughly 3 to 4 minutes into the contest).

Despite having no professional combat sports experience, Ankit (famous for his viral 75 Hard challenge and traditional desi wrestling background) trained extensively in Dagestan to prepare for this extreme step up in competition.

The Reservation Hatao Andolan is a rapidly expanding online campaign in India demanding that public jobs and university admissions rely entirely on merit rather than caste. Propelled heavily by Gen-Z netizens and related student activism, its primary social media handles crossed over 1 million followers within days of launching, signaling a potent new wave of digital mobilization.

The campaign's core pages surged past 1 million followers almost overnight, fueled by viral exam-related grievances, discussions on competitive fairness, and algorithmic sharing.

The movement follows recent youth-led digital organizing and street demonstrations tied to groups like the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), reflecting an increasingly restless young demographic utilizing internet-native humor, memes, and rapid coordination.

While proponents frame the push as a demand for absolute meritocracy and equal opportunity, critics and defenders of affirmative action counter that reservations remain vital to correct deep-rooted historical and social inequalities.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has officially resigned from his post, sending his resignation letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The resignation follows weeks of intense, nationwide youth-led protests over the NEET-UG examination paper leaks and irregularities.

The movement was heavily driven by Gen-Z students and spearheaded by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)—a satirical campaign that evolved into a major national movement—alongside activist Sonam Wangchuk's 26-day hunger strike.

The CJP and student organisations had camped at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for over a month. They made it clear ahead of a third round of talks with the Centre that Pradhan’s step-down was completely non-negotiable.

In his official announcement on X, Pradhan stated he chose to step down to protect students' futures and prevent "anti-national forces" from exploiting the unrest. [1, 2]

Delhi Police on Tuesday detained Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and several Congress leaders after security personnel moved to clear the Congress protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence. Police also attempted to forcibly remove Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and other Opposition leaders from the protest site at Lok Kalyan Marg. "Democracy in India is happening right now," Gandhi said while being removed. He was seen bleeding from the nose, as per photos shared by IANS.

Gandhi, who was leading the demonstration alongside Opposition leaders and Congress workers, was taken into custody as police detained several MPs, party workers and leaders, including Kanhaiya Kumar. Congress workers were also detained, while paramilitary personnel were deployed in the area.

After detained by the police, Gandhi posted on X in Hindi, "Modi Ji, try every pressure, exert all your might - this fight for justice for students will now not stop or be halted."

A Kerala consumer took a state-run liquor outlet to court over a ₹10 overcharge. Charged ₹180 for a beer marked with an MRP of ₹170, he challenged the billing. The Consumer Commission ruled in his favor, ordering the corporation to refund the money and pay ₹25,000 in compensation and legal costs.

A resident named A.T. Akash purchased a beer from a Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC) outlet in Perunad, Pathanamthitta.

The bottle clearly stated the maximum retail price (MRP) was ₹170, but the store's system billed him ₹180. When the customer questioned the staff, he was told to pay what the system showed.

The Pathanamthitta Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission ruled that charging above the printed MRP constitutes an "unfair trade practice" and a "deficiency in service" under the Consumer Protection Act.

KSBC was ordered to refund the excess ₹10 with 9% annual interest, alongside ₹15,000 for mental agony and inconvenience, plus ₹10,000 toward litigation expenses.
