4. The ARISE Free Food Distribution Programme remains one of the flagship humanitarian interventions of the administration of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, aimed at cushioning the effects of prevailing economic challenges on vulnerable households while advancing the welfare objectives of the ARISE Agenda. 5. The State Government calls on all Local Government Chairmen, Ward Personal Assistants to the Governor, traditional rulers, critical stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilization and ensure that all eligible beneficiaries come out to participate in the exercise on their scheduled dates.
6. Stakeholders are reminded that food vouchers will be distributed strictly to duly verified beneficiaries captured in the State Social Register, while the distribution process must remain transparent, orderly, peaceful and accountable throughout the exercise.
7. While the Free Food Distribution Programme continues as a strategic intervention to support vulnerable households, the Akwa Ibom State Government reiterates its commitment to promoting sustainable food security by encouraging citizens to return to the farm and embrace agriculture as a viable means of livelihood. The intervention complements the State’s robust investments in agriculture and other agricultural empowerment initiatives, and is not intended to replace productive enterprise or self-reliance.
8. The Government remains resolute in implementing people-centred programmes that improve the quality of life of citizens, strengthen food security and expand economic opportunities, while sustaining interventions that provide timely relief to vulnerable households under the ARISE Agenda.
