In February 1955, just months before his tragic death, James Dean returned to his hometown of Fairmount, Indiana, for a deeply personal visit. Photographer Dennis Stock captured a series of intimate images of Dean for LIFE magazine, including a poignant moment where Dean stood beside his cousin Marcus Winslow Jr. at their great-grandfather’s grave in Park Cemetery.
