Why is it that most CMO's at big companies last an average 18 months? Because once the CEO realizes that hype for money can’t solve their problems, the CMO gets fired.

The problem is that many misunderstand what marketing actually is.

To be clear... Marketing is not just paying for ads, changing the business logo, or building a social media presence. Marketing is not tactics alone.

Marketing is more about product design, customer service, pricing, customer user journey, and UI. Marketing is creating the conditions for a network effect to blossom.

Thing is... most CMO's are not in charge of ANY of those things.

If it touches the market, its marketing.

If you want someone to be in charge of marketing, have them be in charge of all of it.

Which are more effective: Native or Repurposed TikTok ads?
A new study from Magna Media found that both types have their place. The study found that both types of ads drove positive brand favorability up by 8%, purchase intent by 6% and search intent by 7%, but Magna noted that the two types of ads are perceived very differently by consumers and require unique considerations to amplify effectiveness. How long will this take?
That depends...

- Will the spec change after we begin?
- Are we depending on supplies or inputs from other people?
- Will the budget change?
- Is this work that has been done by anyone before?
- Is this work that has been done by this team before?
- Is finishing it fast more important than doing it well or on budget?
- Do you want to participate in the work (see the part about the spec)?
- What are the incentives of the people working on the project?
- How many different people are involved?
- Are all the people, budgets and assets in place already?
- Who is choosing the tools?

Pathfinding takes longer than path following. Discussions lead to changes in spec. Dependencies always add time.

Rosey Media was happy to produce Skid Row's latest video 'Tear it Down'. This was a tricky production, as the band had only 1 day in town to shoot outside... and, we could only tear down the former Davis and Sons Funeral Home in Paterson NJ, once. Directed by the talented George Barnes of Take 2 Productions, and edited by the equally talented Aimee Nuzzo. Thanks to the City of Patterson for allowing us to rock on their streets and tear stuff down! And special thanks to the members of Skid Row who trusted our vision with the song.

What is surprising to us is how many brands focus more either on data measurements or media content. It is very clear to us that both Analytics and Content are equally important and interwoven. The content must be analytically driven in order for the marketing to be measurably successful. It has been our experience that brands will not see the full potential digital marketing ROI without the right content. And the only way to measure content is engaging through deep metrics. Hard to believe, but we are 6 months into 2022.
Here are a few Social Media Trends we see so far.

1. TikTok is becoming the most important social network for marketing
2. Brands need to spend more ad dollars on smaller networks
3. Shoppers expect to buy any product directly on social media
4. No one wants to talk to brands on the phone...
5. Long-form video is bust, except on YouTube
6. Brands are outsourcing at least some engagement tactics to a Creator/influencer
7. 'Social listening strategy' is a thing
