Ok pool friends , we’re new to this … just when we think we got it figured out … we don’t 😂 everything is level up and running … we sit in the pool and realize our pumps are drilled to high , water over spilling from 2 of us … we have littles so this issue will be worse when they get in …we need to either raise the pool and re drill lower ports or fill ports and drill lower ? Or say f this and buy a new tank lol . Our bricks are all now grouted so If we raise it we need to redo it all 🤦🏼‍♀️

Our neighbor moved and put this stock tank on the curb with the pump and accessories. I’ve always wanted a stock tank pool so, in my mind, it was a golden opportunity 😊 after trial and error, fixing a leak, replacing parts, basically draining it and starting over- I think my hard work finally paid off 🌊 😎

Made this stuffed animal holder to use this dead space in the room (there is an air vent underneath, so can't really put anything in that corner) and have toys easy for the kid to both access and clean up on their own.
It is scrap plywood and elastic. Finished with danish oil. I'd make the top differently if I make a do-over, I cut too much away so it's bowing a bit with the pressure from the elastic, but overall I like it!

My mom had this incredible garden when I was growing up. She passed three years ago, and I swear sometimes I'd sit on that concrete slab and just... miss her so much it hurt to breathe.
I kept thinking, if I could just make something beautiful back there, maybe I'd feel closer to her again.
But I'm 28, drowning in student loans, living in a rental. Who am I kidding thinking I can have nice things?
Then I found this guy Mike on the Tedooo app who makes these barrel planters. I messaged him at midnight, probably sounding crazy: "I have 200 dollar and a concrete backyard and I miss my mom's garden so much I can't sleep."
Three days later, four unfinished barrels showed up with a note: "Every garden starts with hope. Build something beautiful."
You guys... I'd never built anything in my life. I cried over the concrete mixer instructions. I called my dad six times asking if I was doing it right. My hands were shaking so bad I could barely hold the drill.
But look at that last photo. LOOK AT IT.
Those aren't just planters. That's my mom's purple salvia blooming again. That's me sitting in MY space, drinking MY morning coffee, surrounded by something I built with my own hands.
When I move out of this rental, these are coming with me. And when I'm 80, I'm gonna look at these weathered barrels and remember the night I stopped feeling sorry for myself and started building the life I wanted.

I found the set of doors a few years ago, and kept them for the perfect project. Then found the stained glass window and old shutter, so all I needed was some cedar and time!
