When I was younger I would never just pick up a book and read. Who would do such a thing??
In school we were forced to read books that too me at that age were so uninteresting.
Tom Sawyer? Why read the book when I can just listen to the song. I mean duh.
About 17 years ago I was introduced to an entirely new way of thinking and it completely changed my trajectory.
Same Guy, Same Kid, just a different mindset.
Mindset is key my friends.

This book The Slight Edge is a book I've read that I highly recommend.

Here are some takeaways from this book.

"𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐨 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐢𝐠"

Most people think success comes from one huge effort, but the truth? It’s about compounding. Just like interest in a bank account, small, consistent actions add up over time to something unstoppable. Imagine if, every day, you just took one small step in the right direction—whether it’s for your health, your mindset, or your finances. Those little steps, done consistently, have a way of multiplying.

Forget the setbacks that kept you from starting before. Today is always the best time to begin!

Success doesn’t ask how old you are or where you came from. It only cares about one thing: are you willing to take a step each day, no matter how small? And keep going even when you don’t see immediate results?

Start now. Build momentum. In a year, you’ll look back and thank yourself for every small, “insignificant” action you took today. That’s the power of compounding—your future self will thank you.

𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞:
Just like adding a small amount to a savings account regularly, doing small actions every day (even when they seem insignificant) compounds over time into something substantial.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲:
Compounding requires regular input—missing days or stopping completely prevents growth, just like not consistently contributing to a bank account would.

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡:
The first part of the journey, progress might seem minimal, but over time, these compounded efforts begin to multiply, leading to extraordinary outcomes.

Key Takeaways from Atomic Habits - James Clear

IMO A Must Read

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬, 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞

Atomic Habits is all about one simple truth: 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. If you want to change your life, don’t aim for massive transformation overnight. Focus on small, daily improvements. Here’s how to apply it:

𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 = 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐬
You don’t need to overhaul your life to see results. Focus on getting 1% better each day. Over time, this compounds into huge success. It’s the small, consistent actions that lead to massive outcomes.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲
Habits are not just about what you do—they’re about who you become. Want to get fit? Stop saying “I want to work out” and start saying “I’m the kind of person who never misses a workout.” Align your habits with the person you want to be.

𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲
Set yourself up for success by making good habits easy and bad habits hard. Want to read more? Leave the book out where you’ll see it. Want to stop wasting time on social media? Block the apps.

𝐂𝐮𝐞, 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞, 𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝
Every habit follows this pattern. Understand the triggers that drive your habits, and you can shape them to work in your favor.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Stop chasing perfection and start chasing progress. Show up every day, even if you don’t feel like it. It's not about being perfect; it's about being consistent.

Everyday Life? Here’s How You Apply It:

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞: Don’t start by overhauling your entire morning. Start with one small habit, like drinking a glass of water when you wake up.
𝐅𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: Forget about crushing every workout. Just commit to showing up, even if it’s for 10 minutes. Build the habit first; intensity comes later.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲: Want to be more productive? Start by doing one important task right away, even if it's small.
𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡: Read for 10 minutes a day. It might seem insignificant, but in a year, it adds up.

👉🏼 We must constantly reinvent ourselves, continuously evolve towards our best.
👉🏼 Refuse to allow the noisy negatives to take root
👉🏼 How long can you do it? Never let your emotions get in the way, control that, those are yours.
You are the iron that sharpens iron.
Do it for decades and then more decades.
- Do the basics over and over and over and over, master the mundane to the point that the mere fact that you’re still doing it becomes extraordinarily.
- Become famous for overcoming setbacks and obstacles.
