Another successful mountain rescue.

State Hwy 18 west of Big Bear Lake, car over the side and a full rope rescue went down. Patient called 911, pinned location, box alarm on scene, second-due engine and BFDR Tactical ropes down with the litter. Four rescuers rigged the haul system, ARI above running the mechanical advantage, drone up for real-time feed. Litter haul back to waiting AirMethods, rolled straight to an ALS intercept.

This one hurt to watch.

First alarm for smoke in the 27000 block of Las Nieves around 1100 hours. Engine 31 walked in hot and called a working structure fire, upgraded by the captain. E31 and E54 went to work on the fire and a primary search. Found an unresponsive occupant, called it out over the radio while pulling a physical rescue. Patient handed off to our medics on scene, got loaded and rolled to the hospital.

One year gone, never forgotten.

Listening to James Michael Muller on Memorial Day. He lived it, he loved it, the job was his whole life. We carry that with us on every call, every box alarm, every mutual aid run.

IC called for a second‑due, and we rolled in with mutual aid.
She didn’t budge when family coaxed her out, but the crew’s friendly faces got her to smile.
Now she’s planning her next mischief—watch out, crew 🐶

Deck gun puts knockdown on a whole room.

Solid aggressive interior attack. In certain fire problems the deck gun still sees use in the tool room. Way underused on the second-due engine.
