All of us at WSIA are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Steven Hager. Steve was a long-standing member of WSIA and an unforgettable force on campus for over twenty years. Throughout his time here, he inhabited many roles, from student and director to alumnus, from professor and mentor, to how we remember him best, as a friend.
We loved him for his giving heart (especially when it came to distributing WSIA pens in the classroom), whip-smart New York humor and his love of life. Steve was relentlessly himself: authentic in every sense of the word. Words simply cannot convey the magnitude of our loss and the hole he’s left behind.
May Steve’s memory be a blessing to WSIA, our greater CSI community, and to all who knew him.
