Tomorrow morning, before sunrise, the Moon will pay a visit to Mars.

On June 12, a thin waning crescent Moon will appear beside the Red Planet in the predawn sky, creating one of the most beautiful celestial pairings of the month.

About an hour before sunrise, look toward the eastern horizon. A delicate crescent Moon, illuminated by only a small fraction of sunlight, will hang in the darkness while Mars glows nearby with its distinctive reddish hue.

Although they will appear close together from our perspective on Earth, these two worlds are actually separated by tens of millions of miles of space.

Moments like this remind us how extraordinary the night sky can be.

While most people are still asleep, the universe will be putting on a quiet show above the horizon β€” a fleeting meeting between our Moon and the planet Mars.

If skies are clear where you live, don't miss it.

Sometimes the most beautiful events in the universe happen in silence. ✨🌌

Who will be waking up early to see it?

Don't forget to look up! A rare planetary parade is lighting up the sky from June 16–18. πŸŒ™βœ¨

During these dates, the Moon, Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury will form a stunning planetary lineup in the night sky, creating a spectacular view over the horizon.

⏰ Best viewing: 30 to 60 minutes after sunset
πŸ“ Where to look: Low toward the western horizon

A delicate waxing crescent Moon will travel past three brilliant planets. Venus and Jupiter will be exceptionally bright and easy to spot, while Mercury will appear lower, closer to the horizon.

Find a location away from city lights with a clear view of the western horizon for the best experience. Give your eyes about 20 minutes to adjust to the dark.

Don't miss this beautiful celestial parade! 🌌
