together with three suspects were at the BO Waterside Port of entry, Grand Cape Mount County, with 844 grams of Methcathinone, an emerging synthetic dřug which values USD 8,440.00 (eight thousand four hundred forty United States Dollars)with its Liberian Dollars equivalent of 1,688,000.00 (one million six hundred eighty eight thousand Liberian Dollars).
This marks the first known attempt to introduce Methcathinone into the Liberian market.
Thanks to the swift action of our Cape Mount team, this dangerous substance was intercepted before reaching our communities.
Suspects Eariel Xavises Aweti, 36, Sierra Leonean, Samuel R. Grey, 28, Sierra Leonean, Yeah (known on Facebook as Alonzo Abasi) , 35, resident in Sierra Leone, and Matthew Sherman, 25, Liberian, resident of VOA Community.
Suspect , who is an artist and whose song is directly on the campaign for Druğ Awareness and prevention, was among the four arrested suspects.
The substance was found hidden in the rear door of a blue Nissan Primera Plate while conducting a routine inspection.
All suspects have been turned over for investigation and will be forwarded to court for prosecution.
The Liberia Druğ Enforcement Agency (LDEA) remains firm in its commitment to combating druğ traffickinğ and abuse across Liberia.
