The Hologram Room: The Window workshop is complete!

With a focus on commemorating Medgar Wiley Evers, our 6th and 7th graders contributed facts and illustrations in “A Compilation of Brooklyn Studio Students’ Words & Art.”

Seeing how the students exercised their analytical and creative skills to contribute to an AWESOME project was inspiring!

In 2008, I led the black history program at a Montessori School. I saw a gap in understanding , so I decided to create a play featuring Madam C.J Walker, Harriet Tubman, Medgar Wiley Evers, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and Emmett Till. Seeing kids connect with these stories was incredible! In 2023, I transformed this play into a children’s book, hoping to bridge generations and illuminate the richness of the past.
