Welcome to Vatican City Sound's website! I built VCS to be a comfortable, intimate and effective place for recording lots of different kinds of music. I've paid a lot of attention to the acoustical treatments in the main room to maintain a controlled sound without being dead. I've put many hours into the design and manufacture of several custom diffuser panels and mixed them with absorption in the

room to soak up the bad reflections and spread out the good ones. I believe how you hear when recording is a priority, so I custom designed the headphone distribution to be quiet, powerful, and flexible. Great headphone mixes along with clear sightlines and analog closed circuit TV keep everyone comfortable and in touch, visually and aurally. I run ProTools on a really fast computer and and RME interface. I put VCS together from scratch to make great recordings for myself. Now I'm ready to do it for you. Let's get to work!

I wish you could all hear what I’m hearing right now, Mike Pope is mixing an album right now by Sergio DiMiguel. It’s just a really great jazz album heavily influenced by Flamenco with musical twists and turns, deeply rhythmic composition, and SUCH a musical sense for dynamics. Piano, flute, guitar-all of it just so beautifully layered. I can’t wait until the album comes out so I can share it with you.
