We are saddened to learn of the passing of our publishing colleague Holger Siems. Madeleine Crouch, former president of the RPMDA, said beautifully: "Holger understood the value of travel to open doors, promote business and foster cultural understanding. … Holger was charming and sophisticated with a wonderful sense of humour that knew no borders. He was a truly generous colleague to his fellow publishers and a trusted advisor to his dealer customers. We will miss him!"

Then, from 1986 onwards, as managing director of our then newly founded subsidiary "G. Henle USA Corp." in St. Louis...

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Lauren Keiser’s passing. While many of our colleagues may remember him as MPA president or our "fearless leader" from 2005-2012, his long and storied career spanned more than five decades.
He started in the music industry with Sam Ash Music in the early 1970s, becoming their Educational Director and coordinating the retail chain’s activities with school districts and institutions in the metropolitan New York area. He would go on to join Alfred Publishing for several years before becoming the President and CEO of Cherry Lane Music, Astor Music and Books, and Carl Fischer before forming his own company, Keiser Southern Music.
In addition to his time at the helm of various prestigious publishers and the Music Publishers Association, he served as the Vice-Chairman of the International Confederation of Music Publishers, sat on ASCAP’s Board of Review and was a member of ASCAP’s Symphonic and Concert Committee.
A graduate of Goddard College in Vermont, Lauren was also a composer in his own right, whose private composition teachers included Elie Siegmeister, Isaac Nemiroff and Krzyzstof Penderecki.
Lauren spent the majority of his career supporting composers, producing and promoting their works. He published and edited hundreds of music books, folios and arrangements. In addition, he created and co-founded Music in Our Schools, the annual celebration of music in the schools in the United States.
He believed in fighting the good fight.
He will be deeply missed.
