Chhath Puja is a vibrant and spiritually enriching festival celebrated with immense devotion and joy. 🌞🙏 This four-day festival, primarily observed in the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, as well as in Nepal, is dedicated to the worship of the Sun God, Surya, and his consort, Chhathi Maiya. 🕉️🌅
The celebration begins with Nahay Khay, where devotees take a holy dip in rivers and prepare a vegetarian meal. 🚿🍽️ The second day, known as Kharna, involves fasting from sunrise to sunset, followed by a meal of kheer made from rice and jaggery. 🌙🍚
The third day is the most significant, marked by Sandhya Arghya, where devotees gather at riverbanks to offer prayers to the setting sun with baskets of fruits, thekua, and other offerings. 🍏🥥🌇 It's a mesmerizing sight as the evening sky is filled with the glow of countless lamps and the reverberation of devotional songs. 🕯️🎶
The final day, Usha Arghya, involves offering prayers to the rising sun, symbolizing gratitude and hope. 🌅🙏 Devotees break their fast after this offering, and the atmosphere is filled with joy and fulfillment. 😊✨
Chhath Puja is a time of unity and devotion, bringing families and communities together to celebrate the bounties of nature and express gratitude for life's blessings. 🌾❤️ May the warmth of the Sun God bring prosperity and happiness to all. 🌞🌻
