my safari in the Serengeti through my camera lens 📸

i just visited Serengeti National Park in Tanzania during the Great Migration (i went in August) and I have no words besides WOWOWOW

it really is real life Lion King and a place that feels so special and so crazy that it’s actually real.. this was my first time seeing these animals in their natural habitat. it is so beautiful and something everyone has to do at least once in their life!!!! (i stand by this, and i know I’ll be back one day if it’s possible🥹)

the fact that all of this could’ve vanished years ago (including the animals) without conservation of turning the area into a national park is a reminder of our fragile our planet is and that we need to work together to protect it ❤️✨

(i went with .adventures & can’t recommend them enough!!!)

highlights from climbing mount kilimanjaro 🏔️🥹

this was a once in a lifetime trip made extra special by getting to share the experience with my dad and give him this bucket list adventure!

we did the 7 day machame route which was over 38 miles and 13,000 ft of elevation gain! it was sooo beautiful & we went through such diverse landscapes!

although it was by far the MOST DIFFICULT thing i’ve ever done physically and mentally, it was also the most rewarding and will be a trip i remember for the rest of my life🥹

if you’re interested in climbing mt kili, i highly, highly recommend choosing .adventures for your trek! they are one of the only local, women-owned company on the mountain, have the most amazing team of porters and guides (some even women, which is very rare on the mountain) and we said it multiple times… we would NOT have been able to do this without their amazing team!!!! ✨🤍

WE DID IT 🥹 my dad & I climbed the highest free-standing mountain in the world!!!

this still feels a bit surreal to say.. but after 7 days, over 38 miles hiked, 13,436 ft of elevation gained, 3 times almost passing out on summit day, my dad full body cramping on day 1, and endless memories… we are standing at the highest point of MT KILIMANJARO 🥹🏔️

i’m so proud of my dad, he’s living proof that anything is possible at any age! don’t limit yourself, ever! 🙌

it wasn’t easy for him, he had been training for months beforehand and still struggled with nausea, loss of appetite, body cramps, joint pains, and doubts that he wouldn’t make it during the climb… but look where he is standing!!!! less than 0.007% of people can also say they’ve done this 🥹

if you put your mind to something and stick with it, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

as for me? i felt sharp chest pains in high altitude and came so close to passing out 3 separate times due to low blood sugar, fatigue, and the cold on summit day - i’ve never recovered from that before, but after that third time i shifted my mindset to not having a single doubt that i couldn’t do it enter my mind and here we are!!!🥹

this would not have been possible without the incredible team of guide and porters we went with at .adventures , i can’t recommend them enough for your adventure on the mountain!!! dm me if you have any questions 🤍✨

the two hardest days so far climbing Mt Kilimanjaro with my 70-year old dad… 👀⤵️

DAY 3: was mainly to acclimate to the higher altitudes that we’ll be experiencing over the next few days, it was a LOOOONG one about 8 hours! we started at 12,600 ft and first went up to Lava Tower camp (over 15,000 ft) & had lunch there. then we hiked down to Baranco camp which took another 3 hours 😱

everyone was feeling the altitude on this day in different ways - i felt it in my chest/heart, i would get shooting pains if I didn’t take deep breaths & my dad has lost his appetite and feels a bit nauseous

DAY 4: I was feeling better, my dad still didn’t have much appetite and we were all a bit nervous for the Baranco wall but it actually ended up being fun! don’t get me wrong it’s sooo difficult (1,000 ft vertical) but is rock climbing and that was fun and different!

the second half of this day was sooo hard it was a huge downhill and then incline to the Karanga camp and we were all so dead by the time we got there!

now we are at Karanga camp and will be heading up to base camp next, stay tuned as I share how that goes tomorrow 🥰✨

i still can’t get over the stars here…🌌 (check out the last photo to see what i mean🥹)

this was me and my dad’s day 1 & 2 climbing mt kilimanjaro! over 9,000 ft elevation gained and more than 10 miles hiked!

we went through so many different landscapes during these days - starting in the rainforest, seeing monkeys and ending in a heathland/moorland with a desert looking landscape!

so far we aren’t feeling negative effects from the altitude (day 2 camp is at around 12,600 ft), so that’s good! we are taking Diamox altitude meds and I think that’s definitely helping!

stay tuned for my day 3 recap, the hardest day yet! 👀

Boston through my lens 📸✨

This was my fourth time to Boston and honestly each time I go I find more reason to love this city! It’s sooo beautiful and European like, and I always find something new to see or do!

I’m telling youuu if you’ve never been, you have to go it’s one of the best cities in the US in my opinion and such a great solo travel destination 🤗
