Yall, I’m at a total loss and need your expertise.
So this is my front room as you come into my home. My house has wood floors (pretty sure it’s real wood, it’s super thick), but has two small patches of carpet in the sitting rooms. I want to rip out the carpet because it’s 20 years old and no matter how much I get it cleaned it just looks so dingy ever since moving in. I can’t really afford to replace the wood flooring throughout the house currently (or even want to, It’s glued down and gonna be such a pain to remove) but I really don’t want to put more carpet in either. It’s cut in such a way that trying to match wood flooring is gonna look funky, and even then, I have no Idea where the flooring came from to match up.
I really don’t think I have many options other than carpet, but I just wanted to see what you amazingly creative peeps might suggest as I feel like carpet limits my use for this front room here. I dont really need two sitting areas as our main living room is just on the other side of that wall, and would like to maybe convert this space to be utilized in a different way🩷 thanks for your kindness!!

I just got the new TV stand in the front and I’m going to get rid of the one that the TV stand is currently on. My Husband m thinks that the TV stand is too short for the room. I do plan to mount the TV. How should I decorate This wall and space using this TV stand? It does feel a little short, but I really like it and do think that I can make it work! All tips and decor ideas welcome!!!

I really dislike my chaotic tiny entry way to my home. I’ve considered demo’ing the closet and doing an open bench area or something but it’s the only closet on the main floor so we kinda need a closet for jackets and stuff. I have to keep the stair gate for kids and dogs. Do I have any options or should I just leave it be?
Edit. Under the stairs is the staircase going to the basement so not really an option to open it up

Help! We have a small (very!) open floor plan which includes kitchen, dining, entry and living room (with our only tv). There is a half bath and laundry that sits in the middle. I’m suffocating in the space and can’t figure out how to make it work better. Are there any options (other than moving!) for rearranging that I’m not thinking of?

Hi everyone,
My husband and I are moving into our new home soon and I can’t figure out how to decorate our living room. We have a taupe sectional couch, but I feel like the carpet does not match. Being young/new homebuyers, we have limited money to make major updates right now. Any help is appreciated!
Update: This furniture/ current set up is not ours. The realtor had it set up for showings. A picture of our sectional is in the comments.

Please help us settle a debate on the height of the tv:
The tv is currently mounted on the wall a little over 5 feet from the ground. This is the view of the tv while sitting on our couch. My husband says the current height makes a tv viewer look up. He wants to lower the tv and sound bar about 8 to 12 inches down. I don’t think the current height is an issue and like how the tv is currently centered on the wall.

I realize the photo isn’t ideal but please work with me. My parents just moved into this home today- we are furniture shopping tomorrow and I’m trying to make sense of how to use the space best. They are keeping the tables, not the chair. The TV will be on the wall it’s sitting against currently- view is from the kitchen (open concept). Thoughts?! It’s just the two of them there, but family/grandchildren visit frequently.
My initial thought was a sectional in the bigger space with maybe two loveseats and along the wall that leads to the hallway? I’m no expert. 🤭😅
Is there an app that helps with this?
Edited to add, my dad says absolutely no on moving the tv to the other wall since the outlets are already on the one.

So I need suggestions on how to fix this hazardous drop off in our kitchen.
Our split level home has this drop off from the kitchen to lower level. Since we moved in, it has scared me that someone will fall down it. I just had a baby and am now committed to doing something here to make it safer. I will be hiring someone to do the work, I just need to figure out what i want to do. I’d really appreciate any suggestions! ☺️ Bonus if a baby gate could be put up.
