In iCantCU episode 291, I share how every trip—whether to Pittsburgh, New York, or Hershey—came with its own transportation twist: canceled SEPTA trains, late Amtrak rides, missing drivers, and even a crosswalk with no traffic light.

Along the way, I made it to Dancing in the Dark, the PATTAN Tech Adventures event, the Blind Travel Foundation fundraiser, and Laugh for Sight—plus picked up some great ideas for our upcoming NFB of PA State Convention.

🎥 Watch Episode 290 of iCantCU: https://youtu.be/gfyNio_X8to

In this episode, I talk about the troubling misconceptions blind people still face—even from healthcare professionals. One nurse actually asked me how I get dressed. Not what I wear, but literally how I put on clothes. That moment led me to reflect on something even more troubling: blind parents in Pennsylvania losing custody of their children simply because they’re blind.

I also share lighter moments, from Ziggy’s broken Christmas pickle to crab feasts, travel, and convention prep. Join me inside Studio B for advocacy, stories, and some laughs along the way.

New Episode! 🎧 Listen now: https://www.icantcu.com/290
👀 Ever been asked how you get dressed—not what you wear, but literally how you put on clothes? That’s a question I recently got from a healthcare professional, and it speaks volumes about the misconceptions blind people face every day. In episode 290 of iCantCU, I share that story and connect it to something even more troubling: blind parents losing custody of their children simply because of blindness.

I also lighten things up with Ziggy’s broken Christmas pickle, a crab feast in Baltimore, and a trip to Johnstown’s Hiram G. Andrews Center.

🎥 New on iCantCU!https://youtu.be/mMZ3mQSA1mI
I dive into the world of smart glasses with a closer look at the new Envision Ally Solos—designed specifically for blind and low-vision users. Unlike Ray-Ban or Oakley Metas, which focus on social media, the Ally Solos put accessibility first.
In this episode, I compare their features with my Ray-Ban Metas, sharing the highs (great for photos, music, quick info) and the lows (endless notifications, frustrating Bluetooth issues).
Will the Ally Solos finally deliver the accessibility-focused experience we’ve been waiting for? Watch now and let me know your thoughts!

👓 In this episode of iCantCU, I take a closer look at the new Envision Ally Solos smart glasses and compare them to the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses...
