WHAT IS ANOMALY?

Anomaly Entertainment was founded in 2017 by Matthew Kelly and Michael Sorensen. Kelly and Sorensen joined forces at Discovery Communications, where they served as Vice Presidents of Development and Production.

Notably, they have developed and/or executive produced several shows that have set company-wide records, including Gold Rush (highest-rated series in network history), SkyWire Live (most-watched event in network history), Amish Mafia (highest-rated freshman premiere in network history), and the three highest rated Shark Weeks in network history.

At Science they rebranded the network with shows such as Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman (highest-rated series premiere in network history), Punkin Chunkin (highest rated special in network history), and Oddities (longest running original series in network history).
