Keep Your Shower Clean with a 30-Second Daily Spray

One spray after every shower prevents mineral buildup,
soap scum, and grout discoloration from forming in the
first place. No scrubbing required — just spray and walk away.

WHAT YOU NEED (makes 1 full spray bottle):
— ½ cup 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol
— 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap (Dawn)
— 3 cups water
— Optional: 10 drops tea tree essential oil

HOW TO MAKE IT:
Add rubbing alcohol and dish soap to a clean 32 oz
spray bottle. Fill the rest with water. Cap and swirl
gently — do not shake hard or it will foam. Label it
and keep it in the shower.

HOW TO USE IT:
After every shower, while surfaces are still warm
and wet, spray all tile walls, the floor, the door,
and fixtures with 6–8 pumps. Do not rinse. Let it
air dry completely. That is it — 30 seconds total.

WHAT IT PREVENTS:
— Hard water mineral deposits
— Soap scum buildup on tile and glass
— Grout discoloration
— Mold and mildew buildup on grout lines

The alcohol evaporates quickly and leaves no residue.
The dish soap breaks down soap film. Used daily,
this spray eliminates the need for weekly deep-scrubs
on tile and glass entirely.

Yellowed Pillows — How to Bring Them Back 🛏️Pillows yellow from sweat, body oils, and humidity absorbed over time. A standard wash cycle doesn't touch the deep discoloration. This method does. What you need:
— ½ cup baking soda (Arm & Hammer)
— 1 cup white vinegar
— Washer set to 140°F
— 2–3 tennis balls for the dryerMethod:
Place two pillows directly in the drum — loading two at once balances the machine and prevents violent spinning. Pour the baking soda directly into the drum over the pillows.Pour the white vinegar into the fabric softener compartment. It stays there and releases automatically during the rinse cycle, working separately from the baking soda.Run a full cycle at 140°F — hot water is essential for breaking down the oils that cause yellowing. Add an extra rinse cycle if your machine offers it.Transfer immediately to the dryer with 2–3 tennis balls. The balls beat the pillow fill back into shape as it dries and prevent the clumping that makes a pillow unusable. Dry on medium heat until completely dry throughout — a damp center breeds mildew.Check by pressing the pillow firmly — if it feels cool or dense in the center, run another cycle. 🏠

Most people reach for chemical sprays the moment they see a bug but the insects keep coming back because sprays kill on contact without blocking the entry point or removing what attracted them in the first place. Peppermint oil diluted in water and sprayed along windowsills and door frames repels spiders because they detect scent through their legs and peppermint overwhelms their sensors. A thick line of cinnamon sprinkled across doorways and along baseboards stops ants because the fine powder clogs their scent trail and they cannot navigate through it. White vinegar sprayed on countertops after wiping erases the invisible chemical trails ants leave behind to guide the rest of the colony to food. Whole cloves placed in small bowls on windowsills and near doors repel flies and moths because the eugenol compound in cloves is a natural insect deterrent. A bowl of apple cider vinegar covered with plastic wrap and poked with small holes traps fruit flies within hours because they follow the fermentation scent in and cannot find their way back out. Fresh basil plants on kitchen windowsills repel mosquitoes and houseflies naturally through the oils their leaves release. Cedar blocks placed in closets and drawers repel moths and silverfish that feed on natural fibers. Cucumber peels placed along baseboards and under sinks repel ants and cockroaches because a compound in the peel is toxic to the fungi they depend on. Diatomaceous earth sprinkled in a thin line along thresholds and window edges creates a physical barrier that damages the exoskeleton of crawling insects on contact.
