Me: “Can I please have some space?”
My toddler: “Absolutely.”
Also my toddler: climbs directly onto me, drapes their entire body across mine, and breathes directly into my eyes.
Apparently, personal space is just a concept toddlers have chosen not to believe in.
You can close the bathroom door.
They'll knock.
You can sit down for five seconds.
They'll need you.
You can try to sleep.
Suddenly, they're somehow using your entire body as a pillow.
And honestly, as exhausting as it can be, one day I'll probably miss this little shadow following me everywhere.
But today?
I would just like to breathe without a toddler's forehead touching mine.
