The United Nations video I scored last September. See full description below.
Fanfare for all Peoples - a film to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the United Nations.
Premiering today at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly to an audience of Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Heads of States from around the world, the film is set against the stirring words of the Preamble of the United Nations Charter.
Fanfare for all the Peoples also features the voice of UN Messenger of Peace and actor Michael Douglas, as well as breathtaking footage from internationally renowned French filmmaker Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
Info on the making of the film - Fanfare for all Peoples incorporates six languages and showcases the UN’s work on the frontlines of peace and security, human rights, and development. Using cutting-edge technology - including drones and aerial photography - this film shows never-before-seen footage of the UN as well as dramatic shots from across the globe.
An inspiring and original symphonic score, created by renowned composer Rolando Gori, was commissioned for this film and performed by a live orchestra.

1. Listen to the birds. That's where all the music comes from. Birds know everything about how it should sound and where that sound should come from. And watch hummingbirds. They fly really fast, but a lot of times they...
Finishing up the final mix check with Carolyn Montgomery-Forant in her car driving up and down the West Side. Visible Phoenix CD Live at the Laurie Beechman Theater soon to be released!
Had a blast on Tuesday at Terminus Studios in NYC recording some down-home music for Spencer Chandler's upcoming bluegrass Christmas album.
A great interview by RitaMarley on Roy Anderson about his upcoming film Queen Nanny: Legendary Maroon Chieftainess. Roy and I worked on his first film, Akwantu: the Journey together, and I'm happy to report, I'll be adding the score to this new, sure to be amazing, film.

Tonight was a 3rd performance of Michael K. White and Dianna Stark's play Daguerreotype Dialog #4, performed at the Manhattan Repertory Theater by Grant Cooper and Michael Cuevas, and directed by Monica Hoyt. The play also features one of my piano rags https://soundcloud.com/rolandogori/daguerreotype-4 ... koodos to all for a great performance!
The Parker, featuring my score, received a great reception yesterday at its screening at the Big Apple Film Festival. Big shout out to Victor Verhaeghe and Brian Hugh O'Neill for making it all happen! Relax for 8 minutes, and enjoy it here: https://vimeo.com/98995137

Well, we are making a children's album, after all...in The Phone Booth, recording Spencer Chandler on the classic Schoenhut toy piano (this will be its second appearance on albums I've produced ... first played on Heidi Siegell's "Masterpiece" from the album Us Lonely People).
Getting down some six-string action for Spencer Chandler's rock/pop album with Aryeh Kunstler

Having a "blast" recording horns for Jeff Cubeta, with a great horn trio led by Jonathan Saraga.
Enjoyed the better part of two weeks in the studio working on demo preps for Spencer Chandler's upcoming Christmas album...there may very well be some new Christmas classics coming out in 2015! Y'all'll be the first to know.
Finished music on a new short film by Victor Verhaeghe, you can check it out here: https://vimeo.com/98587416
Greg Connors has difficulty parking and his family suffers for it. The trouble only starts at home.
Hanging out with the Akwantu gang in Cranford, NJ this past Friday. Very excited about Roy T Anderson's upcoming film about Queen Nanny. For more details check out https://www.facebook.com/nannythemovie. I'm honored to have been slated to write the score for the film. More news on this coming in early 2015.
Heidi's album got another great review! Feel free to spread the "soothing" word :-) ... http://newagemama.blogspot.com/2014/07/giveaways-in-stillness-lullabies-and.html?m=0
Very lucky to have shared The Phonebooth with the uber-gifted Mandy Gonzalez this morning, as she sang her heart out on another great Jeff Cubeta track. And here's a very natural and unposed-for picture of the two talents (Although I would never do it, Jeff asked that he not be made to smile for the photo ... and, yes, this is Jeff not smiling).
Very excited at having two of my pieces played in my birth town (Rome, Italy) today. A piece for solo flute called "At the Fountain of Youth, A Phoenix" will be played by Gianni Trovalusci; and my suite for solo piano called "Sunday Suite" will be played by Michelangelo Carbonara. I wish I could have been there.
Another great session yesterday with more talented people, courtesy of Jeff Cubeta (JCube!). I don't know how we managed to pull off 5 hours in The Phonebooth together, but we did it! Here's a lovely pic of the very talented singers, Aisha de Haas and Charlie Stevens.

Hanging and recording with the very talented Sean Harkness and Jeff Cubeta all afternoon. Great songs, great guitar, great time!
Another piece from last month's series of short plays. This is a monologue skillfully performed by Malloree Delayne and directed by Monica Hoyt. I wrote the music in collaboration with Malloree and Monica to time it with the action. http://youtu.be/ihO9i_EIapg
