One day, this Rottweiler boy had a warm home, gentle hands, and people he trusted with his whole heart.
And the nextโ€ฆ he was curled up on a cold shelter floor, pressed into the corner as if trying to disappear. โ„๏ธ

His deep brown eyesโ€”once full of loyalty and lifeโ€”now carried nothing but confusion and heartbreak.
Every time footsteps passed his kennel, he lifted his heavy headโ€ฆ hoping someone might see him, choose him, save him.

But behind closed doors, the staff whispered about the list.
His name was on it too. Only hours left. โณ
They thought he might be sick, and overcrowding meant dogs like him ran out of time fast.

So he curled tighter, resting his face against the wallโ€ฆ

๐Ÿพ Every breeder knows that moment, that little buzz on your phone, days after a puppy goes home.

The message starts off sweetly: "We love him, but... โ€

And you already know what's coming next. But he does bark. But he's bangin. But he cries at night. But he's just "a lot. โ€

And it breaks your heart a little every time, because what they are describing is not a โ€œproblem.โ€

It's a puppy.

A baby learning the world outside of his mother and litter. They are confused, overstimulated, excited and afraid... sometimes all at once. And that's normal.

But people nowadays just want the version they see online... the dog who sits quietlyโ€” never chews a shoe and somehow knows how to hold a 10 minute stay by eight weeks.

They forget that behind every well behaved dog is someone who puts in the work, the patience, the boundaries, the grace.

People want love without a learning curve.

Even the most beautifully behaved puppies are not pre-programmed. Ready to grow with you. To learn your rhythm, your tone, your energy. They don't need perfection, they need patience.

Some people confuse an easy going puppy for a good one. But the truth is, every puppy is good, he's just new. And new things are messy before they are magical.

As breeders, we see it all. We comfort those who return scared, insecure and wonder what they did wrong. A gentle reminder to her, "You did nothing wrong, babe." "Because it's never their fault that someone wasn't ready for the hard parts that make the best parts possible."

Raising a puppy is not instantaneous. It's sleepless nights, puddles on the ground, little teeth on your fingers, and the sweetest bond you'll ever form.

A puppy is not a project, or a phase, or something you can โ€œtry outโ€. "It's an obligation. A piece of your heart on four legs. If youโ€™re not ready for the messy parts of puppyhood, thatโ€™s okay. Just wait until you can give your whole heart.

Because these little souls deserve nothing less โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿพโ™ฅ๏ธ

I'm in hell
This is ronnie, heโ€™s 12 weeks old. I love him truly but he is an absolute nightmare. we had a trainer come in and tell us heโ€™s totally normal very sweet puppy. We are training every day and trying to make sure heโ€™s getting all the naps he needs. But this little f**ker loves to ignore, bite and terrorise. We are literally doing everything the trainer asked of us and he agrees we are doing things right. But it feels like weโ€™re doing everything wrong. Any advice or just plain reassurance that everythingโ€™s going to be okay would be great๐Ÿฅน
