"D. L. Myers is one of the more talented poets currently working in the vein of the weird, and this first volume of his verse is very welcome. Poems like "Harrow" and "The Demon Corn" show Myers at his best...Dan Sauer's atmospheric illustrations are a nice bonus, and really do enhance the overall impact of the book."—Goodreads reviewer Jeff, for ORACLES FROM THE BLACK POOL.

Des Lewis offers a Gestalt Real-Time Review of Matt Cardin's TO ROUSE LEVIATHAN!
Hippocampus Press, 2019 My previous reviews of this author: and When I read this book, my thoughts will appear in the comment stream below…
We're just getting back from NecronomiCon Providence, and what a wonderful whirlwind it was.
I wanted to express the gratitude Hippocampus Press has for the community that was in attendance, and all the hard work that was put into the con by staff and volunteers. Niels Hobbs has once again captained a wonderful convention that will be talked about till the stars are right again!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the vendor hall and said hello, thank you to those folks who left with a book or two (or three). Your support of Hippocampus Press and your love for the weird and cosmic, old and new is what keeps us going.
Thanks again to Jesse Clark Tucker and all the other folks who took time out from the amazing schedule to operate the Hippocampus table.
Lastly, thank you to those who came and celebrated with us Saturday night. The marionette performance from Adam Bolivar with an assist by our very own Derrick Hussey as Old Scratch and Jon Padgett reading from TO ROUSE LEVIATHAN by Matt Cardin was a wonderful way to cap the evening.
"TO ROUSE LEVIATHAN is a thinking person’s collection of horror, and will lustrously reward those who are willing to peep with him over the edge of the abyss and not retreat when it returns the gaze. It is also the most fun I’ve had with a single author collection in a long time. This volume deserves to be shelved in your place of highest honor, a fair companion to Lovecraft, Ligotti, and whomever else you consider to be a master of the craft. Matt Cardin’s brand of horror is Lovecraftian in some ways, it’s true, and Ligottian in many others, but I suspect it won’t be long now before we refer to it simply as Cardinian."
“My theological namesake quoted approvingly to his Greek audience a common bit of philosophical wisdom from their own cultural milieu when he spoke of God the Father as “the one in whom…
