Marvin Schlachter, A former music executive who had given many people a start in all areas of the music business has fallen asleep in death this past September 2024. You can read all about Marvin’s great accomplishments on his Wikipedia under Marvin Schlachter Musical Artist.
I had the pleasure of knowing Marvin since the early 1980s when I would visit him at Prelude Records to get his latest releases to play on my show at the radio station 98.7 Kiss FM in New York.
In the mid 1987, Marvin and I would form the now legendary record company MicMac Records. Marvin was an amazing record executive and A&R executive. He had the ears to pick out a hit song when no one else could hear it. I have so many great memories of working side by side with Marvin that I could write a book to tell them all but I won’t take this moment to shine the light on me.
After hearing about his passing and reading his Wikipedia, You will agree with me that Marvin Schlachter deserves much more recognition for his lifetime accomplishments in the music business. He should be mentioned all over the news and the internet.
My deepest condolences goes to Marvin’s wife of 62 years Trudy Schlachter and their three sons. I hope you all are doing well!
