Arshad Nadeem wanted to become a cricketer, won gold by overcoming poverty ❤️ Nadeem has given the first gold medal to Pakistan. But the path to the Olympics has not been easy for Nadeem. He did not even have a good spear in the initial stages. Nadeem had appealed for a good javelin earlier this year. Nadeem's father works as a labourer.

According to media reports, he had initially taken donations from the people of the village for Nadeem's training. Nadeem's father is very happy when he gets gold.

Arshad Nadeem was born on 2 January 1997, in a small town near Mian Channu city, about 300 kilometers away from Lahore. The third of seven siblings, Nadeem was brought up in financial crunch. The only source of income in his household was his father, Muhammad Ashraf, who was a construction worker.

Although Nadeem's first interest was cricket, his family was not able to support him in taking up the sport due to financial constraints.
