I’ve always wondered why Ned chose that moment, right before riding south, to finally promise Jon Snow the truth he had guarded for nearly twenty years. 🤔

A truth he never shared with almost anyone (more in the comments), not even Catelyn… a truth that could’ve cleared his honor forever.

It finally made sense on my recent rewtach: Ned needed Jon to be safe first. Once Jon joined the Night’s Watch, he would have a fixed path, no claim, and no threat to the Iron Throne. No king could touch him — not even Robert. Maester Aemon had done the same, removing himself from the line of succession by taking the Black. Jon would be protected by vows, neutrality, and distance.

Ned’s plan was simple:
Let Jon take his vows…
Visit him at the Wall…
And finally tell him the truth himself.

I’m also fairly convinced Benjen already knew of Jon’s birth, there are small clues that hint at it (more in the comments).

When Ned was making these decisions, he had no idea Cersei’s children weren’t Robert’s, no idea that Robert has basically grown indifferent to ruling the kingdom, and no way to foresee the War of the Five Kings. He hadn’t released Howland Reed from his vow of silence (I believe Ned has him swear to keep silent on the Tower of Joy), he didn’t know Benjen would vanish beyond the Wall.

But I do think Ned eventually saw the Night’s Watch as the safest path for Jon, the only place where the truth about him could no longer threaten his life.

And tragically… the moment Ned planned for never came. 💔

Did Uncle Benjen know Jon Snow’s true identity? 🤔🔥

Rewatching Episode 1 gives a very interesting moment. When Benjen tells Jon the Night’s Watch vows, “can hold no lands, take no wife, father no children”, Jon immediately says it doesn’t matter to him.

And Benjen replies with that loaded line:
“If you knew what that meant, you might.”

On the surface it sounds like typical Night’s Watch wisdom…
But the way he says it? The look on his face? It almost feels like he’s speaking about Jon specifically, not just the vows.

Considering that D&D already knew Jon’s parentage from the very start, it’s not impossible that they wrote Benjen’s line with an extra layer of meaning, hinting that Jon wasn’t just Ned Stark’s illegitimate son, but someone whose true birthright would absolutely matter.

If Benjen knew the truth (or at least suspected), that line suddenly hits way harder. 🔥

🚨George R.R. Martin has confirmed that HBO is developing multiple Game of Thrones sequels, not just prequels.

In a recent update, he revealed that there are “five or six shows” currently in the works. Some of these projects continue to explore the past, but others move beyond the events of the original series, making them true sequels.

Most of the other spinoffs we’ve heard about, like Aegon’s Conquest and 10,000 Ships, have been prequels, but GRRM has now shaken things up by revealing that there are sequels, plural, in development. While speaking at the Iceland Noir Festival, he said:

“Aside from [A] Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon, there are other Game of Thrones spinoff projects in development. Most are prequels. There are several in development, five or six series; and I’m not developing them alone, I’m working with other people. Yes, there are some sequels.”

According to GRRM, there’s one sequel story that stands out as the clear choice:

➡️ Arya Stark’s journey west of Westeros, an entirely unexplored part of the world that even the books haven’t revealed yet.

With A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms coming next, House of the Dragon expanding, and now full sequels being discussed, it’s clear HBO is building a full annual Thrones universe.

‘HOUSE OF THE DRAGON’ may go beyond its original four-season plan. 🐉

Showrunner Ryan Condal previously suggested the series would conclude after four seasons, but that is now uncertain. Sources indicate Condal is still writing Season 4, and the final endpoint could shift.

The ultimate decision on when the story ends will be made after Season 4 is completed.

Happy International Men’s Day to every Hound out there! 🖤

The ones who don’t sugarcoat their words but show up when it counts. Men who protect even when they’re not appreciated, who look after the people life unexpectedly puts in their path.

Men who become the father figure someone never had, who show loyalty without expecting anything in return. Men who face their past, confront their trauma, and choose to grow into better, kinder versions of themselves.

Kit Harington says kissing Sophie Turner for their new movie was… “very odd.” 😅

After playing siblings on Game of Thrones for almost a decade, stepping into a romantic role together was a strange experience for both Kit and Sophie.

Kit told E! News that Sophie was the one who sent him the script, but she didn’t immediately realize they’d be playing lovers.
“I felt very odd about that,” he said. “But it was a good chance to be with her again… It felt like being with family.”

He also joked about having to stand on an apple box to kiss her because “she’s about a foot taller.”

Sophie Turner previously said the kissing scenes had them “both retching” on set:
“Really… it is vile. It was the worst,” she admitted with a laugh.

Despite the awkwardness, the two old friends said their bond clicked instantly again, just like the Stark family days. ❤️🐺

Prince Daemon Targaryen has always stood apart, a warrior, a rogue, a brother, a husband, a prince who carved his own path through both glory and chaos. Westeros remembers him as one of the most admired and most feared men of his age… a rare soul made of light and darkness in equal measure.

Whether you see him as a hero, a villain, or something in between, his presence shaped the history of House Targaryen in ways few others ever did. His loyalty, his rage, his passion, and his flaws all made him one of the most unforgettable characters in the Targaryen story.

Here’s to the Rogue Prince, complex, dangerous, magnetic, and endlessly fascinating. 🐉✨
