Today we're revisiting the late 1970s on Guiding Light and a deeply disturbing moment in Roger and Holly’s history.

In this clip, Holly tries to leave, but Roger stops her and violently assaults her. We’ve left out the most disturbing portion of the scene, but a longer version is available on our YouTube channel.

Scenes like this are difficult to watch today, but they also reflect how dramatically attitudes and the understanding of consent and marital abuse have changed over the decades.
