Join us in supporting the Boston Comics in Color as we screen a set of shorts at the festival!

Boston's first and only comic arts festival focused on stories by and about people of color.

The Boston Comics in Color Festival [BCICF] is a family-friendly event for all ages focusing on creators of color and stories by and about people of color. This event will take place in person the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center on the campus of Roxbury Community College (RCC) and is the only event of its kind in the city of Boston. The event will include event headliner(s); special guest speakers; panel discussions with working artist and writers, workshops, live art demos, as well as an artist alley for comic creators to share and sell their books, materials, artwork.

Today, we celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. 63 years ago today, 7,000 stood in Shapeville, South Africa to demand equality and an end to apartheid. Their brutal repression was condemned worldwide, creating a global awareness of the need to eradicate racism from legal systems. Progress has been made on that road as almost no country has laws upholding racial discrimination– but wherever we look, we see that societies are still blighted by intolerance and discrimination. Each of us has a role to play in freeing the world from racism. Let today be a catalyst for social transformation and let us unite to take action for a more just and equitable society.
