Nia DaCosta is taking the world Danny Boyle and Alex Garland built and completely flipping it on its head. This feels darker, stranger, and way more unpredictable than before.

Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) is front and center this time, and his new connection with Samson isn’t just surprising—it’s the kind of twist that could change everything. Fiennes looks absolutely wild in this role, like he’s throwing himself all in, and I love it. On the other side, Spike (Alfie Williams) gets tangled up with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell), and the whole thing feels like a nightmare you can’t wake up from.

What really hits me is how this movie makes you realize the infected aren’t even the scariest part anymore—it’s the survivors and what they’re capable of. The trailer doesn’t give away much, but that mystery is exactly what makes it so gripping. I honestly can’t wait to see where this story goes.

THE BONE TEMPLE exclusively only in theaters January 16 🍿

One of the best claustrophobic survival movies ever made!

Buried (2010), directed by Rodrigo Cortés, is an intense psychological thriller that unfolds entirely within the claustrophobic confines of a coffin.

The story centers on Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds), an American civilian truck driver working a contract job in Iraq. After his convoy is ambushed, Paul regains consciousness underground, trapped in a wooden coffin with just a few items: a lighter, a flashlight, a knife, a glow stick, and a cell phone with limited battery and patchy reception.

As he frantically makes calls, he learns that his captors demand a ransom for his release, while U.S. authorities and his employer give him little reassurance. Every passing minute heightens the danger as oxygen dwindles, sand seeps in, and panic sets deeper.

The film builds unbearable tension by never leaving the coffin, forcing the audience to experience Paul’s fear and helplessness firsthand. It’s a story about survival, desperation, and the horrifying realization of how disposable one person can become in the machinery of war and bureaucracy.

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022), directed by Edward Berger, is a powerful war movie based on the famous novel by Erich Maria Remarque. Set in World War I, it tells the story of Paul Bäumer, a young German soldier who goes to war full of excitement, only to face the brutal truth of life in the trenches.

On the battlefield, Paul and his friends suffer through constant fighting, hunger, and fear. Their hopes quickly fade as they see the true cost of war—loss, pain, and the struggle to stay alive. The film shows these moments with intense battle scenes, emotional storytelling, and visuals that make the audience feel the chaos of war.

Instead of showing war as heroic or glorious, All Quiet on the Western Front focuses on the human suffering behind it. It’s a story about innocence lost, the damage war brings to people, and the scars that remain long after the fighting ends.

This film is not just a war story—it’s a reminder of how destructive and heartbreaking war really is, leaving viewers thoughtful and deeply moved.

The Empty Man (2020), directed by David Prior, is a chilling blend of psychological horror, mystery, and supernatural thriller. Loosely based on the Boom! Studios graphic novel, the film follows James Lasombra, a former detective haunted by personal tragedy, who becomes entangled in the case of a missing teenage girl. His search uncovers a local legend of The Empty Man, a sinister entity supposedly summoned through a disturbing ritual.

As James digs deeper, he unravels a web of eerie cult activity, hallucination-like experiences, and a creeping presence that blurs the line between reality and nightmare. With its slow-burn tension, unsettling atmosphere, and strikingly haunting imagery, the film builds toward a shocking revelation about the true nature of belief, fear, and the darkness lurking beneath everyday life.

Far from a conventional horror movie, The Empty Man stands out as an ambitious and thought-provoking film that leaves audiences questioning what is real—and what is imagined.
