When we introduce ourselves, the first statement that most people make is “I didn’t know Al Roker had a production company!”
He does....and we’ve been around for over 25 years!
Under Al’s guidance, Al Roker Entertainment (ARE) has become an industry-leading producer of original, award-winning TV programs and storytelling content. Al Roker knows TV, has 13 Emmy awards (among a truckload of many other accolades) and is a trusted multi-media authority. This certainly rubs off on the shows we (and he) produce! We partner with a litany of creative producers, directors, writers, visionaries, talent, brands, production companies, and distribution platforms to produce all forms of innovative content.
Now celebrating our second quarter of a century (!), we’ve produced a variety of breakthrough unscripted, scripted, branded and digital programming for a multitude of channels and platforms. Some of our marquee shows include the reality-based “DEA” program for Spike TV, “Kimberly’s Simply Southern” for Great American Country, "Celebrity Holiday Homes" for HGTV, the “Musial Awards” for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Net, and the Weather Channel hit “Coast Guard Alaska” and its popular spin offs, Coast Guard Florida and Coast Guard Cape Disappointment, all now airing (FREE!) on Pluto TV and Peacock from NBC.
Al Roker Entertainment also recently produced “Girl Starter,” a STEM-based reality competition program for TLC that had 12 young ladies teaming up to create a business and then pitch it to judges for a $100K startup prize.
This fun, compelling branded entertainment piece was sponsored by Staples, Visa, Microsoft, and more and targeted at a highly engaged and reactive audience.
Typically, our branded entertainment division works with leading ad agencies nationwide to create compelling, and in most cases - pro-social - content that seeks to broadcast the good deeds that brands and companies contribute, including projects for ConAgra, Pedigree, Musial Awards, Comcast, Eckrich Meats, Cerner, Life Aid Research Institute, Northwell Health and more. We are experts at pairing brands with non-profits, ad agencies, and PR firms to tell compelling stories of good deeds that live across multiple platforms: everything from network/cable TV and SVOD/OTT channels to social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, TikTok and Instagram.
Did you know our boss, Al Roker, is also a bestselling author? In his spare time(!) Al has written 12 books, some of which have been made into Hallmark TV movies.
His latest book (#13) “You Look So Much Better In Person” is out now and is a hit with his fans! In the tradition of Dick Van Dyke's Keep Moving and Dan Rather's Rather Outspoken, Today co-anchor Al Roker presents a humorous collection of essays based on lessons for living a happy life and achieving success through the power of saying "yes!"
