Nossas vozes são no meio de toda revolução social-cultural no mundo e na história humana inteira. Seguimos lutando pelos direitos nossos e dos outros marginalizados na sociedade. FORÇA!

It is essential in these times of moral crisis, in which Brazilian LGBTQI+ people’s lives are ever more at risk just moving through public spaces, in which the Brazilian government’s claim to protecting its marginalized citizens becomes more and more precarious, more than ever we must tell our community’s stories. Queer voices have always been at the center of every cultural and social revolution throughout the entire world and human history. We continue to fight for our human rights and the rights of all marginalized people in society.
Thanks to @outfest for their sincere and pointed attention to Brazil and its LGBTQ+ community in this time of need.

Dandara Zainabo has a scar around her belly button from eating bricks as a young child. Today, she is a 19 year old trans activist living on the streets of Rio de Janeiro. This experimental portraiture seeks to preserve the spirit of this mighty woman as both powerful and precarious.
The short film PELE (Skin) produced in Brazil with the support of Despina Artist Residency Program will be in Outfest Fusion on March 9th in Los Angeles!
