2 years ago in the middle of pandemic, music connected us no matter where we were. We sang with full of holiday spirit when we were able to see only via zoom, and now 2 years after, we got through pandemic & we found this video and finally finished editing by Lin. SAVA Folk!! We're beginning a new monthly SAVA membership program, with weekly classes and performance opportunities. SAVA members are bi-coastal and international, so we'll be offering Zoom classes and some in-person. Monday evenings and Saturday afternoons are available every week - you come to as many or as few as your schedule allows. Very low monthly membership fee. We all did it together after only Zoom meetings for 2 years and only 4 days of in-person rehearsals! Wonderful SAVA singers sang magnificent Mozart’s requiem at the Carnegie Hall on June 13 2022 successfully. Bravo 👏 🎶 🎼

Our global group rehearsed for months on Zoom, then finally in person yesterday, to the first full rehearsal with full choir today! Thank you, my amazing singers for braving the circumstances and working SO hard! And thank you Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP) for organizing this concert.

Hello and Happy New Year!

Time to get back in shape vocally? I’ve certainly missed seeing a lot of you! For those I have been seeing, we’ve found new ways to deepen your vocal study and make Zoom work for us! Crazy at first, now pretty cool what we’re able to accomplish.

New year and time for a new group! I hope you can join us for a small group that will focus on vocal technique, musicianship, recording, and how to really dig into a few songs. We’ll even talk about methods of self-tape auditions (the only thing we have right now!) and how to present your best self on video performances/auditions and select the right material.

The group will meet online in 4-week installments on Thursday evenings at 7:00pm EST, beginning January 21. The fee is $100 for the whole 4-week session, with a 10% early bird discount if you sign up by Thursday, Jan 7.

Make your singing plans for the New Year, and join the SAVA Singers for our annual workshop and Carnegie Hall performance! Rehearsals begin January 12 and the concert date is April 1. Yay!!! SAVA Singers at Carnegie Hall
11-Week Ensemble Workshop + Final Performance April 1, 2019 $400
Teacher: Bettina Sheppard
SAVA Singers is a choral workshop and a chance to study ensemble singing. Many singing jobs require you to sing parts in harmony and to know how to read and study music. These classes are partially designed to teach the invaluable skill of reading music and interpreting a score intelligently, but the main focus is on how to sing in harmony and hold your vocal part. It's always a fun class!
This session has a more professional focus and also has a big resumé payoff - Carnegie Hall! Classes will be conducted as rehearsals, but with warmup exercises, training in score reading, harmony, and plenty of feedback. The performance piece this year, Missa Eclectica, a fun combination of famous pieces conceived and directed by the wonderful Tim Sharp.
SAVA Singers will join other choruses for a concert in Carnegie Hall on April 1, 2019. The class will meet bi-weekly at SAVA studio, with additional dates for the Carnegie Hall rehearsals in conjunction with other choruses from across the country.
Rehearsal/Class Dates: Mondays, 7:00-8:30 and Saturdays, 1:30-3:30. beginning January 12. Please attend at least one rehearsal per week, but you're welcome / encouraged to attend both.
Mandatory Rehearsal Dates:
Saturday, March 30, 9:00am-1:00 pm
Sunday, March 31, 1:30-5:30 pm
Concert Date: Monday, April 1, 2019

Your workshop fee includes all rehearsals, all fees paid for concert production company, and all music scores. This workshop sells out fast, so please sign up soon!

Vocal Technique Workshop (6 weeks) $180
Saturdays, 2:45-4:00. beginning September 30

Learn the methods of legit technique as well as a healthy belt and mix voice. A fun, smaller class to learn more singer skills.
All artists need a solid foundation of vocal technique, even if blessed with natural talent. Your voice is an instrument that CAN be learned with the right training. You will feel truly supported with individual attention, a focus on solid, proven technique and vocal health. You will learn an overview of performance requirements and develop your musical expression. Bettina’s vocal technique is a synthesis of over twenty years of study, investigation, and trial and error of the many confusing, and often conflicting, methods of teaching. Music will be provided and many singing styles will be covered including theater (with an emphasis on appropriate audition material), jazz, rock, pop, classical.

Musicianship Workshop (4 weeks) $100
Fridays, 2:00-3:00. beginning September 29

Do you want to be able to learn new music on your own? Understand what’s happening in a music rehearsal? Many singing jobs require that you read and study music on your own to keep up. Decipher music as a language! Includes ear training, basic music theory, sight singing, interpreting a score. All music and materials will be provided.
