Nicole Dressen has seen a lot of change since joining Assembly just two months before the pandemic changed the world. Reflecting on that time, she writes, “I transitioned into the Client Services team in 2020. It was a quick transition, and I had a lot of questions, but every time something new came up I always felt supported – and encouraged to ask even MORE questions.” Since then, Nicole has quickly become a go-to contact for both clients and colleagues. “Something I love about our team is that everyone is always hungry to learn more – no matter their role – and help coworkers do the same for the betterment of our clients.”

We asked Nicole to share a photo that captured her at her happiest. “This photo is of my fiancé, Jordan, and Golden Doodle, Penny. We took this photo last year, a couple of days before Jordan proposed and just before making an offer on our first house.” What an exciting new chapter! On behalf of everyone on our global team, CONGRATULATIONS! Thank you for all you do.

Hello world, meet Amy. She’s amazing. Since joining Assembly 3 years ago, Amy has made a massive impact in our London office and throughout our global Paid Search teams. Her work pushes us to think about search differently. In fact, a highlight for her since joining Assembly has been being recognized for a global award. “The best thing about working at Assembly has been the people. Since day one, my manager has supported me and my whole team.”

After work hours, Amy enjoys singing karaoke and traveling. If you catch her singing, she’s probably performing an expressive musical number from Heathers: The Musical – her favorite. And when she’s traveling, Amy prefers being beachside and soaking in some glorious vitamin d. That’s precisely where this photo was taken. “It doesn’t get much better than being at the beach with turquoise waters. This photo captures my first time abroad in two years since the pandemic, on the island of Boa Vista.”

For Black History Month, we have been celebrating Black innovators and thought leaders in the arts and marketing who have been challenging the status quo in their respected areas. And when we saw Kay Rufai's captivating photos of smiling Black boys in The Guardian and throughout London, we knew we needed to invite him and learn more about the S.M.I.L.E-ing Boys Project.

In response to the rise in knife crime in London, Kay created the S.M.I.L.E (Send Me Inspiring Loving Energy)-ing Boys Project, a research-led photography, poetry, and immersive art project that addresses the overall wellbeing of young Black boys between 13-25 through workshops, exhibitions, mentorship, and field study. Today, the Project empowers Black boys by providing tangible coping strategies to manage their mental health.
