Is the school actually still functioning? I have written three emails and have received no reply at all. I have phoned but it goes straight to voicemail. Left a message, and I’m still waiting for a callback.
I love how the page supports so many student voices in the industry. As a fellow filmmaker I always look for films that both educate and inspire me. Because of that, I wanted to share with you all this new documentary I came across on Netflix called “Kiss the Ground.” The directors, Josh and Rebecca Tickell, are former Sundance Audience Award Winners with an extensive background in environmental activism and film making. From the trailer, the cinematography is a sight to be seen and the story-line is also one I haven’t seen before, so I’m actually super excited for it. It comes out next week on Sept 22 and I found out they’re hosting a global watch party/Q&A day of!
I love finding pages that are passionate about film and converse about the benefits and impact a film can have. To further this conversation about impactful films, I wanted to discuss an upcoming Netflix documentary I read about in People magazine. “Kiss the Ground” is the latest movie from activists and directors Josh and Rebecca Tickell that presents a motivational and uplifting message about reversing the effects of climate change through regenerative agriculture. This film has Woody Harrelson as the narrator and features many celebrity activists such as Patricia Arquette and Ian Somerhalder! I am so excited for this film because I really think this film’s uplifting tone will impact so many people! The film releases on September 22nd and there will be a virtual watch party and Q&A! I would love to know what you think after seeing the trailer!
I love that your page has become a hub of entertainment and training through the internet. I've missed being able to watch films, but I've been able to watch a few independent films and I'd love to recommend one for your program. I was able to see a premiere screening of the film Chief Zabu, a film 30 years in the making. Though being set in the 80's, the film's comedic timing and hilarious take on business figures in the world is a well shot masterpiece of satire in the highest degree. With Ben Sydney (Allen Garfield) and Sammy Brooks (Zack Norman) leading the way and stealing the show as the one of the funniest duos on film, this blast from the past will fill you with nostalgia while also blowing you away with its relevance. It's set to be on VOD platforms by August 8th, and I can't wait to watch it again! Let me know what you think when you're able to see it!

‘#Fear does not stop death, it stops life’ - Vi Keeland. In these times of #Uncertainty, collective and individual ‘Fear’ rises. How does it consume our mind? Which environmental factors engineer its ever-encroaching presence in our being? #PHOBOS (FEAR in Greek), a fascinating #shortfilm by Alex Proyas (#TheCrow - #DarkCity - I, ROBOT - KNOWING) is more pertinent than ever in our current, global stranglehold.

I love that as a student I can share my passion for film with other students on this page. I have recently been trying to support independent filmmakers and so I wanted to research where I could watch independent films unlike those found on the mainstream streaming services. I stumbled across a platform called Film Festival Flix, which is a streaming service that houses acclaimed independent films, curated channels for all audiences as well as virtual film festivals. A great virtual film festival that is being showcased now on the platform is the Ashland Independent Film Festival, there are over 100 films to watch over the course of the festival. I have been enjoying my first virtual film festival and I knew I had to share with this page. Let me know if you join me in virtually attending the Ashland Film Festival and if you have any recommendations on Film festival Flix.
Wow, what a cool idea for a school! As a film lover I really appreciate how there are places like these to help other aspiring filmmakers follow their dream. To contribute to the page, I would like to suggest checking out Film Festival Flix. It’s a great website that offers a wide variety of films/documentaries on both its channels and collections for you to explore. Recently, on its Kino Lobrer channel I watched the movie “Russian Ark” by Alexander Sokurov which employed a one-take story around the historic Russian State Hermitage Museum. Channels like these also offer one-week free trial for you all to explore for more films. Personally, I love this website and think you guys will enjoy it too!
