For 7 years I’ve been striving to build a community for poets & poetry lovers. I sometimes feel like I’m fighting for something that’s not fighting for me. Finding peace in the clouds
As they dance in a sea of blue
How I wish I had their freedom
To live without the weight of the world
To live without the wait of my world
These clouds float into the sunset
I float into the view reminded of
The beauty of God’s creation
I see the work of his paint brush
And I give thanks. And I remind myself
Even in a world full of ugly scenes
Life is still beautiful & worth living.

but never stayed there.
Just like my life,
every time I think
I’ve made it to the top,
I get knocked further
into the basement.
My bitterness & rage
Grows with each passing year.
Been down more than up.
Why can’t I have sustained happiness?
Why can’t my view from the top
Last more than five minutes?
Must success Joy & peace
Remain elusive to me.
I’ve run out of tears
And the willingness to care
Or the want to try again.
