NOMAD CIRCLE | NOMAD ST. MORITZ

Objects of Common Interest have created the first exhibition for Perfettooo!, an interactive experience which plays with the conscious and the unconscious, and reflects upon the subject of architecture and related emotions. Objective Collection

The exhibition will showcase Objective's represented artist @BrechtWrightGander's latest series of works, The Luminous Body. With his metaphorical and playful designs, Gander challenges and inverts the ordinary understanding of how human beings and furniture co-exist and interact with each other.

Artefact - Design Avenue | Design Centre Chelsea Harbour

Artefact, a new contemporary craft fair, highlights British craft and visual arts through its programme of online talks and a physical marketplace.

The show displays a range of product and service-based projects and offers guests an opportunity to speak to the designers about their work, the industry and new opportunities.

This year, Made in Brunel's theme is "Above the Fold", which references how the most important headlines in newspapers are placed above the fold so they are always visible. This theme reflects the idea that "what students achieve at Brunel Design School is headline material" said event organisers.

Made in Brunel is a unique initiative that showcases Brunel’s design talent at its finest. We are a student-led programme that facilitates the connection between Brunel design and the greater creative community to help promote the incredible work our students produce.

Architecture Project Talk: Cork House hosted by Dezeen and Knauf is a residential building that was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize in 2019. It is made from sustainably sourced blocks of cork and was designed to be recycled or reused at the end of its lifetime.

Architecture Project Talks is a series of presentations by architects about their key projects, which count towards CPD points for UK architects. Registration is required to attend.

CARPENTERS WORKSHOP GALLERY presents Tiss-Tiss, a new collection of award-winning collectible design by Aki and Arnaud Cooren. The French- Japanese duo have a cross disciplinary approach, fusing notions of traditional handwoven textiles with aluminium in a minimalist design aesthetic. Tiss-Tiss marks their first solo show in the UK and features a selection of nine works, of which eight are new, including chairs, a dining table, bedside tables, stools, a bench and lamps. Each work exposes a relief of fabric on the surface and sewn stitch imprints on the edges which are cast in aluminium.

Serpentine Pavilion 2021 designed by Counterspace - Serpentine Galleries

This year's Serpentine Galleries Pavilion is designed by Johannesburg studio Counterspace and takes its form from the architectural shapes of London

The pavilion, which is installed on the lawn in front of the Serpentine Gallery in London's Hyde Park, references the architecture of parts of London that are particularly relevant to migrant communities, such as Brixton, Hackney, Dagenham and Notting Hill.

Counterspace, directed by Sumayya Vally, will design the Serpentine Pavilion 2020/21.

Side Gallery, established in Barcelona and founded in November 2015 works with international design of the twentieth century, as well as contemporary design. The gallery focuses on Latin American historical design from countries such as Brasil, Mexico, or Venezuela, primarily concentrating on the work of Oscar Niemeyer, Geraldo de Barros, Lina Bo Bardi, Luis Barragan, Antonio Bonet Castellana,arquitecto and Joaquim Tenreiro, but also with a special sensibility for Spanish and Italian design of the past century and rare pieces by relevant architects worldwide.

NEW YORK CITY: Pandemic, Resilience & Hope

In March 2020, New York City came to a halt. As pandemic restrictions set in, streets were deserted, subways empty. In the summer, after the murder of George Floyd, Black Lives Matter protesters filled the city. Then, in November, the city celebrated the presidential election. Established after the Atomium’s acquisition of the Plastic Design Collection in December 2014, the Design Museum Brussels offers an innovative and surprising insight on the plastic design from the fifties to the present (permanent exhibition / Plastic Design Collection) and on other forms of design through other periods, expressions, materials and themes (temporary exhibitions).

The Design Museum Brussels is also an auditorium with about 400 seats and an educational and cultural service with activities designed for children, teens and school groups. Lectures and screenings, in connection with the themes that are explored, enrich the museum’s program of activities.
