Another step backwards in Orban's Hungary: Civil Radio forced off the FM airwaves :-(

A mai nap fekete nap a szabad rádiózás történetében.

CMFE - Community Media Forum Europe

CMFE held its Annual General Assembly in Siena on September 20 (see below), which also means that the forum has a new President, Birgitte Jallov, taking over from Judith Purkarthofer. Birgitte has been on the CMFE board for the past 4 years, and will lead the organisation for the coming 2 years. Birgitte is a seasoned community media practitioner, analyst and advocate with a world-wide network and experience (see more here: https://cmfe.eu/?cat=9).

Birgitte says: "As the incoming President I will build on the impressive work carried out by my predecessors, by our board, experts and members, and while following our strategic plan, I hope for CMFE to continue to strengthen the space for and understanding of the importance of community media – in all their forms and shapes - which is what CMFE is all about."

Birgitte plans to share much more about the way forward after the new board has met and agreed about its focus areas for the coming years - including plans for an active newsletter and continued SoME presence. As always it is a good idea to mention that CMFE's work is based on an active board, a group of experts and partners. CMFE has no paid staff.

Much more to come!

Would you care if music disappeared from FM radio? You may only have a decade to save it

Despite facing attacks from CDs, cassettes, and digital downloads in the past three decades, radio still reaches over 90% of adults in the U.S. If you think FM music could be dead within a decade, as some experts argue, iHeartMedia CEO Bob Pittman says you're missing the point.

¡Felicidades Radio Ahijuna!

¡Felicidades Radio Ahijuna!

¡Tenemos licencia! 💪📻🎉

¡Salud!
