New arrival at Echoland ✨ a vintage D 1000E dynamic microphone, produced by AKG until 1967.

This mic is very versatile on any source, particularly good choice for amps, snares & live vocals - comparable to an SM57, but cooler 😎 w cardioid pickup pattern and 3 frequency response options - swipe to see ➡️ a nearly dead flat B mode, and two other modes with rolled off bass and boosted highs.

This mic was famously used by Jim Morrison of The Doors for live vocals 🎙️ as well as David Bowie, who used a gold plated version of this mic for Ziggy Stardust era tours. This mic has already been put in rotation.

Thrilled to welcome for a 6 month residency at Echoland Studios. Return Records is an independent label based in NYC with a diverse roster of artists and a commitment to innovative models of music making 🤜💥🤛

Alongside the many great artists and bands rehearsing in Echoland, the label and its artists will establish a base of operations for collaborative songwriting, rehearsal and recording sessions at our Manhattan location in the historic - in an experiment that aims to fuse Motown techniques with modern music production practices, culminating in a new recorded body of work and a series of live showcases 🎙️✨
