A clear topped mini casserole dish from a plastic grape(s) container. Flipped the top piece and trimmed to fit as a lid. I coated the inside of the bottom piece with several layers of nail polish. Painted a dab of silver nail polish on the inside of lid. Heated a pin to poke a hole through, then cut the pin very short and glued in place with E600 glue. That little clear lid would also make a fantastic butterdish lid. That will be my next project.

Just finished this room box as a gift for my girlfriend. She is a professor and getting tenure this year so I wanted to do a box for her new office space. The room uses a standard 8x10” frame at the front. I built the box from basswood. The potted plants are paper that was printed, cut out and also painted after attaching to thin floral wire. Some fun repurposes, the plant stand base was on an automotive repair pen packaging. The paper box on the desk is junk plastic. The pot on desk was a weird piece of plastic that came protecting something else and the one on the stand is just a cap wrapped in twine. Desk and chair are made from heavy chipboard. Pen added to scene for scale. I’m so excited to give this to her this week!!

Did you know that if you warm up the plastic skeletons they sell at Halloween at their joints with an embossing gun you can bend them without breaking them, and they will hold that pose if you hold that pose until it cools. I use pliers to hold it so it does not burn me. It requires parts from 2 skeletons to make it. I did end up using a tiny bit of wire(which I removed later) just to make sure it did not come unglued where I connected the two together. I plan to make a whole dining set for my doll house. I used to make dead fairies with them, nothing new there, but I had to share the chair, it is just too much fun. Happy Chair making! Edit: these are mini skeletons

Behold, a hamster cage for my pussywillow hamsters. Base is a jam tub, cage is part of a toy shopping cart, tunnels are straws, food bowl and wheel are caps, bedding is chopstick put through a pencil sharpener for shavings, water despenser is a hot glue stick with beads attached, and the hamsters or gerbils or baby hedgehogs or whatever you imagine them to be are pussywillows with little faces drawn on!
