Tomorrow (Thursday, June 2) at Rizzoli Books, Matthew Brookes celebrates the release of his new monograph, “Into The Wild”.
For this project, Brookes followed a group of young surfers from Venice Beach on their adventures up and down the coast. The result is a story of van culture along the California coast—a story of youth choosing to follow their dreams, living out of vans, existing for surf and travel and freedom, and always chasing the best waves.
What is the thread that connects us? Find out in a new exhibition on view tomorrow, April 21, through June 10 at the Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York. "Nadav Kander: The Thread" presents the artist's evocative landscapes and penetrating portraits from the 1990s to 2020s that evoke the interconnectedness of humanity.
“My approach is to drill down to the essence of things, searching for feelings of vulnerability, quiet, and beauty, whether it be a familiar face or a riverscape," Kander describes.
