Dekel “The Flash” Crowdus (@CrowdusDekel) is back at @FDouglassFB

He may be Kentucky's most coveted prospect and leading the pack at his position in the Class of 2021. He's also a fantastic kid who has been a wonderful friend to KPGFootball over his career which we first began covering when he played for Team Kentucky Future Stars in middle school. Dekel and his Team Kentucky teammates lost a beloved member of the team to a tragic accident with a gun resulting in that young man's death. [ 575 more words ]

Can JT Acosta from @TC_CommodoresFB (Class of 2021) keep the ball rolling at Tates Creek in 2020?

Go back to this past Fall and let's stroll down memory lane together. Second game, coming off a 39-7 win over Madison Southern, the Commodores get hammered 62-14 by Frederick Douglass. Then the Commodores lose to George Rogers Clark, get hammered 40-0 by North Hardin, before surviving Bryan Station (33-27). The 6A school then loses to Lexington Catholic at Catholic 54-50 to find itself 2-4 heading into district play and the home stretch. [ 634 more words ]

One of the great missions, if you will, of this site is to categorize and then memorialize Kentucky High School football. This is both for the fans of the game now and for posterity. Records, pictures, and accounts of some of the great teams of yesteryear are sparse with pictures downright non-existent it sometimes seems. So, we have taken it upon ourselves periodically to write stories about former players, former coaches, and even former teams. [ 861 more words ]

Part of what we do is preserve on our database the history of Kentucky High School football both for the purposes of posterity and because the present recorders of history suck at this. In this art…

@ChazGeraghty from @HCougs_Football is a 2021 baller who crushes the eye-test

Talk about a kid crushing the eye-test, how about Holy Cross's QB, Chaz Geraghty. Geraghty is a 6-4, 215-pound prospect playing QB and LBer for the Cougars whose college home is probably not under center. We don't mind that, lots of kids play collegiately at positions where they weren't played in high school. We don't know he won't be a QB in college for sure, as he easily has the frame for that, but he also has the frame and athleticism to play his other two listed positions of TE or LB at the next level. Like we said just yesterday, KPGFootball has sources spanning the entire breadth of the commonwealth of Kentucky. Salty Veterans…Which 2021’s enter the last tour having played the most football?

Being salty has various meanings from being rude to crass to other insulting and uncomplimentary adjectives. That isn't what I have always thought that particular adjective was defined. "Salty" which derives from the Middle English "Salti," is more of a naval term. Navy men reference a sailor's "being salty" to being experienced. I suppose it would refer to being constantly "at sea" upon the ocean's "salty waves" the perpetual kiss from which would render one's skin somewhat "salty." … [ 591 more words ]

I was talking around the magazine just this morning with one of regular contributors and selection committee members about 2021 kids around Kentucky flying under the radar. You have some of Kentucky's best 2021s without even a single offer right now and that is anywhere from curious to strange. Recruiting services, who incidentally know absolutely nothing about Kentucky HS football, are compiling lists of 2021 "top-prospects." However, they are consistently leaving off their lists some of 2021's very best high school players and have included some players rated way too low and beneath some players who literally can't hold the first player's jock-strap on a football field.
