Neighbors, a student from NYC, Elizabeth Polanco De Los Santos, 21, has been sentenced to a year in prison in Dubai after allegedly touching an airport security guard's arm. The incident occurred over the summer back in July.
______________________________________________
According to the New York Post, the student was passing through Dubai International Airport on her way home from a vacation in Istanbul, and was set to get on a connecting flight. During the routine security check, Elizabeth was asked to remove a 'waist compressor that she was required to wear after a recent surgery.
______________________________________________
They ended up taking her to a private female booth, and the female staff members took the compressor off of her. Her mom claims 'they were rough and hurt her daughter’s still healing surgery scars. They also laughed at her, and when she asked for help to put the complicated garment back on they refused.'
______________________________________________
Elizabeth says she kept telling them they were being to rough, but ignored her, prompting her to call out for her friend.
______________________________________________
"I gently touched her arm to guide her out of the way then desperately started crying to my friend for help," she told Detained in Dubai.
______________________________________________
After touching the guards arm, Elizabeth was then detained in a room for several hours because the guard she touched filed a complaint against her. Dubai officials ended up looking at this as “assaulting and insulting” move.

He is 5'8 and his weight is 145. He left school grounds without supervision."
Here is what the police missing report reads:
"The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing endangered person Kyle Jones. Kyle was last seen September 28, 2023, at 8:03am on the 19xx block of N Front St. and went in the direction of Front & Berks Train station.
Kyle is 19 years old, 6’0″, 190 lbs., black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a burgundy sweat jacket, black Adidas pants and white sneakers.

Repost from : ( : Black-women-owned venture capital firm, Fearless Fund, has been ordered to pause grant applications supporting Black female founders. The decision was made on Saturday by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, while a lawsuit against the firm claiming racial discrimination works its way through the court.
____________________________________
The Fearless Fund is an Atlanta-based venture fund that invests in businesses led by women of color. As previously reported, a nonprofit group founded by , the conservative activist behind the Supreme Court’s affirmative action case, is suing Fearless Fund for allegedly committing unlawful racial discrimination. The lawsuit accuses Fearless Fund of violating Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866, a U.S. law that bars racial bias in private contracts, by making only Black women eligible for a $20,000 grant competition.

The temporary injunction issued on Saturday ultimately reverses Tuesday’s ruling by U.S. District Judge , who denied a request from Blum’s nonprofit, American Alliance for Equal Rights, to halt the grant awards process. Saturday’s panel of federal appellate judges wrote that the program was “racially exclusionary” and “substantially likely” to violate a federal law prohibiting racial discrimination in contracting. AI DOES IT AGAIN! Leave it to AI to create more questions than it answers…
Since there is little to no doubt that middle eastern and North African men do not look like this, especially during Jesus’ time, a glaring question now arises?
WHAT IS THE TRUE IDENTITY OF THE IMAGE DEPICTED ON THE SHROUD OF TURIN?
Personally, I’ll resign to the belief that AI got it wrong this time. That position is far more diplomatic than chasing the truth behind the image on the shroud.
While my ancestry screams the truth, my faith tells me that it really doesn’t matter. I’ll submit to follow my faith!!!

Low levels of a microscopic parasite were found during routine testing of Druid Lake Reservoir, the Baltimore Department of Public Works said, meaning the drinking water could sicken some vulnerable populations in parts of Baltimore, Baltimore County and Howard County.
The parasite Cryptosporidium could potentially cause gastrointestinal problems in those who are immunocompromised, elderly, or children, officials said. Those populations are advised to take precautions like boiling their drinking water.
"Please rest assured that our drinking water remains safe for the general population. This is not related, or in any way comparable, to previous water-related issues," the agency said in a statement.

Rest In Power. 🙏🏾 Repost from : (Zoleka Mandela, granddaughter of South Africa's first democratically elected President Nelson Mandela, has died of cancer at the age of 43.
She passed away on Monday evening surrounded by friends and family, a spokesperson said.
In recent years, Ms Mandela had become well known for detailing her cancer treatment.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation said her work was inspirational.
It said that she raised "awareness about cancer prevention" as well as "breaking down the stigma surrounding the disease".
Ms Mandela also spoke candidly about her struggles with depression and the fact that she had been sexually abused as a child.
In addition, she campaigned for better road safety after her 13-year-old daughter was killed in a car accident in 2010. She later lost a son who was born prematurely. She is survived by four children.
Ms Mandela, who was the granddaughter of Nelson Mandela's second wife, Winnie, documented her story in her autobiography When Hope Whispers.
Diagnosed with breast cancer at age of 32, she received treatment and was in remission but the illness later returned.
Last year, she confirmed that she had cancer in her liver and lungs, it then spread to other organs. She was being treated as an outpatient but was admitted to hospital just over a week ago.
We extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.🙏🏾🕊️)

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas flew on a private jet in 2018 to speak at the annual winter donor summit of the Koch network — a trip that was intended to be a fundraising draw for the influential conservative political organization with interests before the court, according to a report published Friday by ProPublica. In recent weeks, at least two of the justices have publicly suggested the court should act. Justice Elena Kagan on Friday said she and her colleagues could adapt the policy that governs all lower court judges to reflect the unique structure of the Supreme Court.
“I think it would be a good thing for the court to do,” Kagan said during a live-streamed conversation with the dean of Notre Dame’s law school. “It would help in our own compliance with the rules, and it would, I think, go far in persuading other people that we were adhering to highest standards of conduct.”
Kagan noted that Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh had also recently said he hoped the court would soon take steps to address ethics issues. The latest ProPublica report focused on Thomas’s interactions with the Koch network, which has given millions of dollars to a conservative legal organization behind one of the Supreme Court’s biggest cases of the term that begins in October. The group, Cause of Action Institute, is asking the justices to overturn a decades-old precedent long targeted by conservatives concerned about the power of federal government agencies. The precedent has been used extensively by the government to defend environmental, financial and consumer protection regulations.
